What's the latest results from hybrid trading?

Like always, it's about adapting. I network with a lot of good traders. Not a single one of them makes significant money doing what I'd call 'traditional scalping'. The quick in and out, read the book, lean on size, pile on the crossed ecn's, etc. The guys who are making money are in two...

What's the latest results from hybrid trading?

Sometimes. Sometimes I put the position on and scale out. I'm a fan of time-based stops too.

Also widen your time horizon. When trading for hours instead of seconds, the micro moves are insignificant.

Any better prop firm in Canada?

It's quite a peculiar Canadian quirk when good traders are happy to give away "only" 50% of their earnings. I still haven't heard one good argument to trade at a firm with these splits unless a) your edge is the almost free execution cost, b) you are totally new and learning on someone...

    Commissions at a Prop Firm..Help!

Commissions are usually on a per share basis and can vary widely, depending largely on the volume you trade, other things you are looking for like training, but also who you know and what shop you end up at. Some places can still get away with a penny per share or more by providing capital...

How much$ was commission in the '90s?

At TD Waterhouse in the mid to late '90's I paid $29/trade plus between 2 and 5 cents per share depending on the stock's share price. 100 shares meant you were about 65 cents per share in the hole from the beginning.

What is your favorite city in the United States...

I'd like to start bidding for a second home in north San Diego county in a couple years time. Solana Beach and Del Mar are my faves. Rancho Santa Fe is amazing too.

    Ainv Acas

ACAS provides funding to and buys the debt of distressed companies. People are a little skitish on that sector lately and there was more dire news in the sub prime lending sector today.

They're not "odd numbered", they're "just right numbered". Whadya think, I'm doing the same share size for every positon like they taught it in 1999? ;)

    The Opening Orders Thread

Correct. TXN and PFE were both short positons that gapped down below the previous close. Those are usually dicey positions, luckily these ones worked right away.
