    TA - Self-fulfilling prophesy?

my 2 cents: TA would work in the past, now and in the future. :D One of the main objectives of TA is to catch the trends and their timing of price movement (generally, in order for traders to make profits). It would be appropriate to define that any analyses or techniques that are used...

Trendiness of Days - assigning a value

2 cents: Perhaps ADX, which was originally designed by Wilder to measure the trendiness of any bar, in terms of its directional movement, in comparison to its surrounding bars during an observed period of time, could be exactly what you want in a practical sense.

Trendiness of Days - assigning a value

It seems Crabel's trendiless concept above would cover basically four characteristics: 1. Daily bar; 2. Expanding range; 3. Close - around its bottom/top; and 4. Open - around its top/bottom. Possibly the daily range could be established mainly: A. In the first few hours of the day; B...

    Universal Systems Problem

Just 2 cents: For very short time frames, simply just wait until closing. For relatively long time frames, perhaps better take extra actions, imo should be no more than one extra action during a bar, during the current bar based on any pre-defined critical values (due to breakout...

A decent system may still come and go, the mindset underlying its development would be forever. :)

Trendiness of Days - assigning a value

As if Crabel's trendiness (it might be applicable to intraday bars, I guess) is measured on daily bar basis, it's quite alright, I would think.

Trendiness of Days - assigning a value

For day trading, Toby Crabel once mentioned: "... Look at trendiness based on an expanding day's range with a close in the bottom 10 percent of the day's range and an open on the top 10 percent of the day's range, and vice versa."
