gosh ... so thats why my IB acct has 41 yen in it ! or is that 41/100 of a yen ? :p

just remember to rollover and or trade April gold futures instead of feb ... and you will be ok ... there might even be a way to ask IB to rollover the position for you ... but not sure about this better ask them exactly how they would do this and what the slippage if any might be...

then why is Jim R moving to China ? :confused:

thanks ... it seems only the bids and offers are missing but I can "blindly" place my orders for now based on where I believe the market is or should be :eek:

my broker seems to be down in ECBOT products now of course I am hedging any exposure on CME - globex but am wondering if anyone else is also unable to execute ecbot at this time tonight ?

whats your background in speculation ( ?) are you looking to actively trade the stock index futures or other volatile markets , knowing you could easily "blow-up" do to the leverage ? you are lucky though ... yrs ago there was no such thing as a mini future or mini forex acct

the best times are when you are most comfortable trading gold ( or any financial instrument ) for example ... I sometimes do not trade so well when the markets are spiking up or down like crazy intraday ... as it is harder for me to scalp or arb in my usual style

any idea why BARRONS does not invite CRAMER to their round table ? I am sure their readership would be "huge" in those issues :p

I assume your 30 % made on the 5 K acct was without much daytrading ? did you make money on the downside as well as you did on the upside in the mining stocks you traded ? what is the most amount and least amount of positions you ever had on at anyone time ? were the stock (s)...

had my 2nd worst drawdown in a year on monday made 1/2 of it back by the close today oh well .. .there is always next week and if I do not take some personal time off I hope to learn to do what "worked" for me in the latter part of the week and let the chips fall where they may...

sometimes ... I think it is all quant - auto hedge - algorithmic trading out there ... man versus machine ... usually the machine is keeping such a tight market it is hard for man to win or to make much ... sometimes though the BOTS are turned off ... or they go "bonkers" that is...

he may look sheepish and foolish at times but the dude has got some buckos in the bank whatever he did to make it ... and however silly his -BOOYAH's- sound ... I think we all deep down have more respect for him than some of the other "street" honchos or barrons roundtable folks...

whats with the Euro ? seems weak relative to gold price today ? ( glad I did not try this spread ) it does work sometimes ah HAAA ... its the crosses ... JPY versus the other majors thats the ticket for the day :p

look .. .the time to have bought gold was $40 ago when the commercials covered as the T.A. were convinced it was going under $600 an ounce now ... it might still go alot higher and there are tons of predictions for higher prices ... but buying breakouts does not work as often as one...

its strange ... I see globex quotes and trades occuring for some markets and not for others :confused:

I believe the roundtable attendees mentioned NBR and PXD too in this weekends edition of barrons they might be worth a look esp if the price of crude oil and other energy products do not drift to much lower than last weeks lows and make some sort of retracement price wise
