    trade bust on comex

Sounds like you traded Z6, not Z5? I suppose when you don't trade front month they get alot more leeway in screwing market orders?

INTRADAY TRADING: Small stop chop versus big stop drawdowns

I guess I'm 3) Use small stops while not getting chopped around while going for outsized moves. Whichever school you choose, the size of the stop doesn't really matter if psychological damage is the actual issue.

Thx steve, will check it out.

IB - stops not triggering (again)

Steve, when will they ever allow conditional stop orders? Why is that so difficult to implement?

    YM Inverse H&S pattern

Nope -- it didn't really look like an inverted h&s to me as I wrote above. Just saying if you're gonna go long for an H&S to play out, the failures work just about as well and sometimes pay off even faster. JMO. Didn't mean anything more by what I wrote, I guess I got confused by your...

    YM Inverse H&S pattern

Put your trust in the pattern or setup, not the position -- shorting a broken invert H&S is one of the better opportunities out there . . .

Oil takes down this market starting today...

Yield curve inversion looks much more likely now compared to just last week. I guess the whole market is looking at that as well?

    YM Inverse H&S pattern

Dunno, the left shoulder and head don't seem to be discrete enough on today's chart, and maybe not enough technical traders piled in on the neckline break to achieve the minimum profit objective of neckline + distance from lod (head)? The penetration of the NL seems to have made somebody's sell...

    Thinking in Probabilities..

Play poker or blackjack to train yourself to avoid results-oriented thinking on the most basic level. If you double down on your 11 vs a dealer's 5 and lose, will you refrain from doing so again the next time around (given no extreme negative count)? Or worse, feel so indignant that you...

    Trading for a Low-Paying Living

I think there are only a few instances for the off-the-floor individual trading his own account where trading-as-income is in the end a "worthwhile" endeavor -- meaning, where one's edge as a trader cannot be leveraged or compounded and yet still provides a dependable living. The real question...

    making one point a day?

If you're attitude is to come in each day looking for your 2 ticks, you will probably learn very little about the market you trade. The objective isn't to make trading easier, but instead consider raising your standards in order to make progress.

    making one point a day?

It's funny how so many people focus on average pts per day, in a profession that is as far away from making a consistent X amount on Y period as any you can think of. It's like a college basketball player looking to go professional who plans his future thinking about the best way to make...

The Definitive book on Trader Psychology

Are emotions ever practical for use in trading? Can natural (mostly negative) emotions be turned towards one's advantage? For me, the danger of allowing emotions to overcome rationality is being overaggressive in terms of risk-taking at the worst possible moments (when my emotions are most...

8/3/2005 Long CAD and short EURO futures.

What's with all the hedging? No difference between a realized and unrealized loss you know, you don't need to bend over backwards over a "bookkeeping" issue, do you? If you still think your original long CAD position is valid, keep that, determine the stop point where you are...

    Ib Tws Down

Let people pay for decent charts like the rest of us do, wtf is a few hundred dollars a month in a business like this for a dedicated quote/charting service? Stop giving others a free ride at my expense.
