    Bug in TWS?

At least it's not just me. Calling IB won't do anything, you gotta fill out those problem tickets through their website.

    MOVIES about Trading

From the greatest horror flick of all time, The Exorcist: "The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth, to attack us. The attack is psychological, but powerful. So don't listen, remember that, do not listen." Sums up the tape pretty well. Be...

    Bug in TWS?

Okay, anyone else getting this? Whenever my connection is interrupted for whatever reason (this includes the overnight maintenance period), and TWS reconnects, the quotes where I hold a position (or have 0's for having traded them earlier in the day) are frozen. All other quotes regardless...

Holding on to winners and cutting losers

It's simply a matter of improving one's timing, if you are often making entries at prices that aren't key reversal/breakout points (relative to your time frame), you will have difficulty cutting losers and holding winners. The better your entry, the easier it gets. The psychological excuse...

    Knee strain

I just want to be able to jog my miles each week, I will go insane if I can't run. I can't even picture playing bball anymore. I did have a 40" vertical back in high school, spudd webb was my idol.

    Knee strain

Ok thanks, I guess I can forget about any serious cardio for a few weeks. Sucks, cuz I tend to blow up (no pun intended) like a balloon if I don't get my 15 miles in for the week.

    Knee strain

If it is a stretched ligament, I take it that there is not much you can really do to strengthen that point? Is stretching and flexing the knee before going on a run helpful at all (once I've allowed it to heal from rest)? What about exercises in effort to strengthen the leg muscles around the...

    Knee strain

I got the new shoes because the pain started and I thought it was perhaps that my old ones were worn out (it had only been about 6 months though). But the pain returned anyways.

    Knee strain

I'll definitely be wary of that or any other compensation problem, I am pretty sure it was from stress from moving the treadmill, but bad knees are a bit of a hereditary thing I'm finding out too, so something to watch for long term.

    Knee strain

Is a bike that much less stressful on the knee? Less impact it would seem, but same or more strain? Thanks for the tips guys.

    Knee strain

At first I couldn't believe we actually got it down into the basement, the platform weighed about 200lbs and was 5ft in length. We didn't realize that "free shipping" meant "to the sidewalk".

    Knee strain

I've been running for a few years now, I took a break over the holidays and just started up again. I started getting a sore left knee afterwards, and it got to the point where I couldn't finish my usual route. It dawned on me that I might have strained it over christmas moving a very heavy (of...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Shrug, I never had a "problem" with you, I just suggested something that you obviously don't agree with. I didn't bring up your name again after I said I would leave you alone, someone else did in relation to something I wrote in a facetious tone, but I never intended to continue our discussion...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

By the way you keep repeating that date, and by the way you handle your journal posts, you sure have insecurities about public displays of losses. It's ok to lose sometimes, really, it shouldn't bother you at all if you're gonna do this full time (and no, I don't mean journal writing). I...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Yes, that's for experts only. You should stick to the easier stuff like hope and pray. If you are ambitious though, a neat trick, if you are down a lot, is to just buy one more contract. Then presto, you only need the market to move half as much to get you back whole. This was taught to...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

But if you do decide to sell it, if I'm reading this journal correctly, the thing to do is to sell one more, then you can cover up the sight of a losing trade with a separate position. Repeat until you come out positive. Then you can post your results without shame. Oh, make sure not to...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Whatever you do, don't close out a losing trade -- you might have to post it in here for everyone to see :( You won't have many opportunities to get long again at these prices, god forbid you might miss out on a huge rally if you close it out. Keep the faith.

why doe IB's TWS eat up an extra 200 meg during the day

Just to update, this specific incident of certain tickers running while others stayed stuck seems to be related to my broadband connection hiccuping and tws reconnecting -- a restart of tws now seems necessary after disconnect.
