I'm long for now. It feels like we found a local minimum here around 1.2220. Chinook

Last time, I windsurfed was three years ago in Club Med Sonora Bay in Mexico. Also, I was trying kitesurfing for the first time there--I sucked big time mostly because I was partying like there's no tomorrow there. There's great windsurfing in the greater Portland area at the Columbia Gorge here...

I'm usually right in my intial entry at least for 3-4 ticks but I'm resisting to be scalper. It's too short time frame for me. That's a respectable size! What's your usual stop at that size? I agree with scalping and the toll it takes on one. Although I'd say, couple of hours of bikini...

Hi Sulong, Right now I'm trying to concentrate on what makes me tick (as I wrote couple of posts ago) rather than figuring out different markets. So right now, I trade only EUR/USD. I use limited price patterns like double bottoms/tops. But usually, good moves come after penetrating...

Gang, Let me first explain where I'm coming from and what I'm trying to do. The following turned out little bit incoherent but I hope you'll get the message. When I first got interested in trading the markets, I wanted to use a scientific approach. First I would try to come up with ideas...

Yes, you're right I don't use fundamental analysis in my trading since my time-frame is very short but it is on a longer time-frame than scalping. Also, I have to admit that I get bored looking at all these numbers and try to make long-term predictions. Chinook

Did you stay with your short? If you endured the long chop, you would have made decent profit... Chinook

This strategy is completely different than mine. I think you are trading longer time frames and looking for 200-300 pip moves? I'm more like looking for intraday 30+ tick swings. As long as we're in a range you'll milk nice $$$$ :) My main trading philosophy is not to make any longer term...

In this case there'll be multiple stop losses. Otherwise, you're right you'll be taking the max loss. For instance, for EurUSd you can look at the cable, bonds, lately crude oil for intraday moves. Of course, the correlations come and and they don't work all the time.. Chinook

I think the scaling out targets for S&P are OK but scaling in at 1-tick intervals is too tight. You might as well have entered all at once...I think this is more scaling out than both scaling in&out. Chinook

I agree 100%. This is always a dilemma for me. I always decide what will make me happy at the moment, or cause less self-beating afterwards. For instance, on Friday I let go 25+ tick profit in favor of an upside move then ended up getting out of the trade at breakeven. During Greenspan's speech...

Gringinho, What's your time frame? Are you scalping mostly? I go after 30+ ticks intraday moves. If you're scalping then entries are very important for you. For me entries are not that critical. Chinook

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

It was a crappy day for me. First, I got whipped couple of times during the spike and went long too late. Then my tight stops got chipped away slowly as EurUsd started pulling back late in the day. Anyway, days like this will happen again. I have to milk the profitable days as much as...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I'm still long. My stops are tight and I got stopped out couple of times but got back in with couple of ticks loss. I'm hesitant to sell around the 1.2295-1.2300 level fearing that I'll miss a nice pop upside. This turned into a waiting game. I don't want to have loose stops and get caught in a...

I get screwed by these extra Globex spikes once in a while. The way I trade (usually without close targets), I can't use them to my advantage. I adjust my stops looking at the cash market but then the sometimes futures overshoots and gets me. I'm confused now. Why don't you trade the spot...

I'm constantly sliding my dried rooster leg upwards on the EurUsd chart :) Are you still active in the EurUSd futures? This thing easily overshoots the spot by 20-25 pips. Chinook

I'm still negative for the day. Good luck. I don't think we'll see too much on the downside today. Chinook

It looks like, we need to break the triangle upside to go over 1.2300. Note: Look at the MAs, they're useless in this rangebound market. Chinook
