I used TCP Optimizer from http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php I have Comcast now (it used to be @home when I first got cable) and they reecntly upgraded to 3MB/s. I didn't know they offered ~5MB!

I ended up baby sitting a trade on Thursday evening and went to bed past 4am local time! I got chopped for about 12 ticks but the market was so slow. It felt like my hair was being pulled one by one. So I ended up sleeping very late on Friday. Looking back at the charts, it looked quite choppy...

In that case, don't force it. I wrote earlier that yesterday my quotes were blanking out and happened 7-8 times. Also, once my CME native stop-limit order didn't trigger--very strange!

My "trend-candidate" short got stopped out. Then I did a quick short and a long :) You're right about the chopfest!

The problem is if there's a sudden adverse movement, it becomes difficult to close the position with a larger than expected loss. Especially if you are away from the screen. IB is OK here today but was quite "choppy" yesterday!

Why don't you use stops? Fear of getting chopped?

Regarding the crude oil, yes it's kind of interesting how the correlation changes with EURUSD. I wonder if sometimes these moves are caused by same people selling the EURUSD and crude at the same time... I'm short for now.

I got stopped out at 1.27 at breakeven! Wow you didn't use stops--it could have gone either way.

I'd say especially during the last 3-4 weeks, there have been some good moves in the Asian sessions.

It also helps writing down your trades in a log (right after you open and close positions) and checking if they were within your trading parameters.

I moved my stop to little bit over 1.2700 but I'll monitor it until an hour after the European open. I'll trail it as usual. Edit: We almost have same # of posts :)

martys, Do you have a simple trading plan? Did you make sure that your rules are not conflicting each other?

I did pull my stop down to 1.2671 right before the slip below 1.2690! Lucky me... Are you still in? Edit: Did you have any IB problems today? I had blank quotes and my native GLOBEX exit stop limit order didn't work for the first time!

Gringinho, I'm tempted to open a long from here too. I would probably wait up until around the European open. Edit: I couldn't wait any longer and got long right around 1.27. I have a 16 pts stop.
