If Dow plunges another 13 % today, I....

they need to start calling hank paulson, and fast. That is assuming they are not all short already. Hmm.. 1st abolish uptick rule. 2nd abolish program trading curbs (as their thorough research showed, did not have the slightest effect on smoothing volatility ... yeah, we can see that now)...

    QQQQ bouncing AH?

So far from max pain (laugh all you want) in 3 days? As crazy as it seems, I'm expecting a miracle in 3 days. Or at least a major effort by santa ben. Just find it hard to see the crash so many are predicting (with good reason), when so many option writers stand to get annihilated with...

    Compensation on Wall St.

What type of engineering was his undergrad in? Also, considering the type of environment we are looking at (recession), a solid paying job isn't looking too bad vs. a startup right now. Although startups can pay VERY well in the long run, he needs to understand that only the owners and very...

U.S. Headed for Worst Recession `in a While,' Jim Rogers Says

He has made bad calls before (very bad). Although, I would agree that if we are not already in a recession at this point, we will officially be in one sooner if not later.

    Intraday chart

Every buyer has a seller and every seller has a buyer, so you'd basically have one flat line with varying volumes. Good Luck. Being a bit sarcastic there, but I think you are asking which buyers were retail vs. institutional, in which case, since you are retail, again,... good luck.:p A...

    Do gaps 'always' fill?

One could argue that any gap just "hasn't been filled yet." Although, that isn't an argument worth betting money on. I'm also doubtful of that 90% long term stat, although I agree more on the 50/50 one. I would argue that over the long run, gap downs get filled more often than gap ups...

    Do gaps 'always' fill?

gaps do not always fill. I think this has been discussed before. But, think about it, if they always filled everyone would have an easy edge. How often is that the case in the stock market?

Bears Exceed Bulls by Most in 17 Years, Investor Poll Says

Exactly. Anyone who doesn't understand this, seriously, needs to study sentiment logic. Pull up consumer confidence during katrina, and you'll begin to understand why it's massive money that moves the markets, not the "masses."

    are markets truly random?

Correct on the last statement. Markets fit power law curve. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_law Which in essense, is just as unpredictable as a normal gaussian distribution, yet worse. Know anyone that can predict earthquakes well? Information rules, not charts. Sad but true fact...

    TA end of year poll

Doesn't look like it's going to break the channel this year. Congrats to those who called it earlier on. As I recall there were only 6 who were brave enough to make the call on the 1st post. Rest of posters waited till AFTER market confirmed to make a decision. As for the bears, hope you...
