    fractal generator algorithm

p.s. not a julia generator (complex iteration), but a simple generator algorithm or program that generates simple forms like kotch, cantor, or three piece generators (like stocks).

    fractal generator algorithm

Does anyone have a simple three leg fractal generator algorithm? It would be nice to be able to vary theta and magnitude of the base legs. TIA

Yes I'm a newbie. And yes I'd like to make a lot of money.

Avoid the greedy lure of quick profits and start small to prove to yourself that your ideas work before you begin to take big bets.

Anyone using Commitment of Traders report

That or traders have already scrutinized it and didn't find it very valuable. You'll find on your path that the traditional theory behind it can be VERY misleading. i.e. when you read to go long when commercials get long, go back and see how great that theory is. Then see if it always...

Using Neural Networks to Identify Chart Patterns

Instead of starting training with bars or candlesticks, why not make it simple and start out with line patterns. For instance a flag made up of a line, vs a broadening triangle both have unique characteristics that can be identified, although they are relatively simple. Take bullkowski's...

Using Neural Networks to Identify Chart Patterns

The scale of the fractal shouldn't be relevant. Is it not the same as detecting a large N vs a tiny n? The nn would converge to the n regardless of size if properly designed, since it is closest to ideal pattern. If you have a finite set of patterns, I would think it would be similar to...

Using Neural Networks to Identify Chart Patterns

I believe that is what the program, patternz does. I'm not positive it is AI based, but using the program, I would assume it is. It isolates various patterns, flag, etc.. and outputs the captured patterns and comments on their meaning and resolution.

High Five if you paid attention. Read em and weep if you're short.

Using Neural Networks to Identify Chart Patterns

There's a book called Predictors that talks about practical examples. Although, I don't recall if they went in to any specifics about the structure of the neural networks they used. It was more of a non-fiction biography of a team from santa fe that implemented them. You can also play...

    Psychology at 52 week highs/lows

either more excited, or on the opposite camp throwing in the towel after repeatedly getting taken to the woodshed. I recall when I said that I thought the four horsemen were way overvalued on a TA short term basis. I remember everyone on the board thought it was absolutely insane to be short...

People are positioned badly again ahead of Fed

Firstly, under 50bps is NOT most likely. You need to seriously try to go do some research in order to understand how measures of likeliness are determined. It will open your eyes. There are plenty of objective expectations measures showing a VERY HIGH likeliness of 50bps tomorrow. Go...

People are positioned badly again ahead of Fed

50bp cut. And both short interest and bearish sentiment have been at extremes. Go back and check your sources. Shorts will be blown out of the water tomorrow.

    Don't fight the fed

shorts fought the fed and ...who won? Next time you want to short on a day the divine hand of the fed intervenes, take a sticky of the thread header and paste it on your forehead. Don't think that end of day plunge shorts were waiting for is coming.

Ben just screwed himself and this market

The sage advice leaves anyone who went long the open feeling pretty good right about now.:D rate cuts may not stop a raging waterfall over the long run, but it sure helped to take that advice on the open this AM. Just ask the shorts who took positions this morning on the expected...

    Don't fight the fed

And today this classic maxim will demonstrate it's veracity. Nasdaq already retraced 1/2 the gap, indices filling gaps quickly in the face of what was to be a major meltdown. Everyone is expecting a pause and relapse. DON'T FIGHT EM.

ES and ER@ are limit down

Here's a true story of how gutsy some of the floor traders at the Board can be at times. Bill, who works our soybean orders, told me about one summer day when the soybean market was down the limit. It wasn't just down the limit; it was "locked down the limit," with five million bushels...

How the MMs handle panic like this?

yeah, by dropping bids in hundred lots, while their institutions short hand over fist. Liquidity, yeah right.
