    Which Poster Is Worse?

If an individual is sincerely posting an article or bringing up a topic that they are interested in discussing, and that relates to trading in some way shape or form; then I'm all for discourse and/or helping them out with understanding some concepts. However, that being said, I seem to sense...

    Moving average question with tradestation

I don't use TS, but it's fairly easy in a spreadsheet like excel. Just take MA(n) in any column, then copy and paste special(values) the data into another column shifted up or down 20 cells; subtract the two columns. DONE.

Another Gorgeous Day on The Bay!

Back from NY. The weather wasn't too bad, actually. Got to see some filming of Harrison Ford and Rachel McAdams (in center photo) at Madison Sq, while relaxing at the Borders upstairs. Only downside was arriving on E train/JFK at midnight... Let's just say it wasn't filled with three piece...

Im thinking about going short on INTC ...

I don't know how long you've been trading. But that's not 'any' kind of typical response. In fact, that kind of behavior (multiple gap ups on perceived good earnings in bad environment) was what started the ascent off the 03 bottom. Many shorts were annihilated on the way up as it was fast and...

Will they please stop publishing great books!

I hear you. I don't know if you read much on the fiction side, but there was an interesting book I read, titled, "Dante's equation," by Jane Jensen...

Volume analysis is to be discarded as it is "too much information"

------------------------------------------ 2c. One of the very 'few' volume based indicators that had some merit in my past studies was OBV. Take a good sample of past winners and their breakouts/exponential runs from very long periods of sideways behavior; then look at how OBV behaves. It...

Are there any BULLISH "black swans"?

Some unexpected change in the rules. For instance, if they said something like shorting uptick was reinstated along with a reinstatement of collar rule and or other rules at the same time. Then again, it could be completely unexplained. You see a lot over the years.:D

    It's a... Depression

It started spreading about 2 yrs ago. Pretty long time to disseminate through the collective conscious, wouldn't you agree?

    It's a... Depression

Don't know about you, but when a preponderance of public figures (publicly proclaim and) lean towards a certain direction, I generally tend to lean the opposite. But that's just me.

    McDonalds is hiring.

You are absolutely correct on stating this is a propagated myth. As an anecdote, I had a friend who had been a workaholic and solid engineer for years. He was laid off in America, however, after a long search, the only 'American' company that would hire him, did it under the provision that he...

Data-mining and Machine Learning approach to trading?

Sure, when you find someone competent enough to administer it. Obviously, you aren't up to the task. Politics & Chit Chat is on another end of the forum. I think you waded too far out; better get back to the shallow end before you drown.:D
