Just curious-what you are trading and how big is the size of you trades relative to money on acc?
i trade stocks all day long with bunch of small lots on decent size margin acc and feel ok after glass of water in morning.
if you trade, like one guy here quarter of M to make 100-200$ in average...
rwk is right..some programming will be required. yahoo limit is 200 symbols per 1 request. with decent broadband or better connection it would take ms to get the data. create loop in excel or VB and just go thru your symbols list.
i do this once a day to compare EOD data with another data...
i do this all the time. + i like to open new credit card with 0% on purchases or even better balance transfers. live on that card,making minimum payments every month while let my money work on 5% some CD, and pay rest at the end of promo rate.
i have it running right now since my first post. able to login from first time, around 1-2pm EST. running old standalone 864.7 on 1.6 java.

regarding their status page-usually, during trading day they report issues on that page way faster, than in TWS bulletin.

you should get some respond from API to your app. thru order status event or error.
also-IB constantly make changes that may affect your order. i'm not expert in forex, but in stocks such thing may happends for example if you did not specify currency for stock OR you submit your orders using...
no disconnections/login problems here.
the only new thing i notice today,when i tried to place order is new pop up saying-
"order would cross related resting order"
have no idea what it's mean and never seen this one before.
can anyone from IB explain,what it mean?
