    Predicting randomness

Just because you have guessed right a few times, maybe even a 100 times in a row, does not infer predicability.

    Predicting randomness

Is there a rational basis to supply and demand? The market moved about 170 points the other day because of a name. That is not rational. Attempting to predict the future is not rational. If there is no rational basis to an action, then that action is randomized. The markets, if anything...

    Predicting randomness

Price has a reason...supply and demand. But can the engine that determines supply and demand be determined beyond a coin flip? No.

    Predicting randomness

That does not guarantee that x condition will necessarily create y results. Fooled by Randomness??:)

    Predicting randomness

I submit that the markets are indeed a random walk, yet tradeable. The success comes in managing the risk, and not the outcome of the trade.

    Predicting randomness

If you flip a coin and get three heads on Mon, Tuesday, and Wednesday at noon precisely, does that mean it will happen on Thursday and Friday. You sir, may have been fooled by randomness:D

    Predicting randomness

I have concluded that there is no such thing as a trend. All patterns happen in hindsight. Taleb has something with his market views. I am not marketsurfer:D Seriously, my trading experience has shown me that trying to predict the direction is worse than flipping a coin and using good...

What does Price Action Mean to you?

Another point about price(no pun intended):D Price is the only component of market analysis that is not dependent on how much data you have, look back, what type of platform you use, what exchange you are on( some exchanges calulate volume differently than others), whether you use tick...

What does Price Action Mean to you?

Agreed, but this phenomenon is not an absolute. Sometimes price will reverse with heavy volume. Sometime price will drift quite a bit lower on almost no volume. Volume is not a reliable indicator of what price will do at selected points. Price remains the only absolute. Regards Oddi

What does Price Action Mean to you?

No, price is the only absolute in the market. All indicators depends on the number of price points input into the equation. Volume is almost a completely ramdom entity. Regards Oddi

    Why not trade price ?

All indicators are some sort of interpretation of price. Usually it is significantly delayed. Why not just trade price and price alone? Best Regards Oddi

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

This is the very center of Gann. There is nothing new under the sun. Having said that, Jack is very valuable in that the stilted langauge that he uses makes one reach for the concepts that he espouses, which are very valuable. The P/V relationship is just one of several ways to make order out...

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

Which is more likely to signal a reversal, a low volume hammer, or a high volume hammer? Both are white hammers, and both are reversing off clearly defined support.

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

In my opinion, volume is not consistent. Volume varies from provider to provider. In Spyder's journal, for example, there have been instances where FRV was met on one provider, and not another. Volume is also calculated differently from exchange to exchange. Block trades can also distort the...

    Best Times of Day

What is the best curreny pair to trade in New YorK? I presume the AUD/USD gets volatile around 3pm EST.... The JPY/USD gets moving around 6pm.... I believe that it is important to know what instrument is likely to be moving during what time of day, sans news. Best Regards Oddi
