    CL Redux

The only indicator I use is a 20EMA on both the 5min and 1min charts. If the 5min 20EMA is rising, I look to go long on pullback toward the 1min 20EMA; if the 5min is falling, I look to short pb to the 1min. If it flattens, I sit on my hands until the more powerful team emerges.

I agree that ES is very well-behaved compared to CL, but I'm a bit of an ADD scalper and CL serves that personality well :p I usually only trade ES in the last hour, I found out years ago it's difficult for me to focus on both.

(Not to blaspheme the ES Journal, lol), but if you want to see an intraday Trend of Beauty, check out crude oil (CLG4) today. ADD: That sort of price action feels like the market's raining money. Every trade I took I was sure was going to be the failure, and they just kept working.

Bull flag channel between 12/31 and yesterday on the daily chart breaking out today...if the highs can break with conviction, I wonder if there's enough buying interest to set up a measured move. That would take price well beyond 1850.

I thought of Bighog telling me about the "big dogs" and how they go sniff at the hydrant before they mark it. The hydrant now being all-time highs, and the dogs are roaming closer to give it a sniff. Here are some awesome words of wisdom Hog gave me years ago: Try to look back a couple...

Can I be an "ordained minister" and trade tax-free?

It seems to me that if your church gets 501(c)(3) status, and you hold services during certain hours of the day Monday through Friday (except Holy Days, of course), and the church services are comprised of a series of specific actions performed on a trading platform, then I imagine any profits...

There's not a trading book in the world that would've told you 1.52 was support yesterday, lol!

Isn't Elliott Wave used on very long time windows? Does it actually work for day trading?

Yes, but we've all cultivated tough skins :p FWIW, I went from being a losing counter-trend trader to a profitable trend-follower, so you'll find it helpful to look at a 1-min ES chart when a key level breaks (triangle, trend line, etc) and that breakout level becomes S/R in a possible...

It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, though. There's previous R around 1806 if the channel fails. ADD: These aren't levels to go long, on a trend day like today, they're levels to target profit as each one fails. It's how the shorts would let their winners run (or add to them).

The first key level to watch for a reversal is the 1817 zone. Then you need to watch for an actual reversal setup, IMHO. I know it's possible to counter-trend trade effectively, but it's not easy and requires years of experience.

Kerry, there's no long signal yet.

Right, on trend days, whenever you get that feeling price is going to reverse because of a pause or a few little pullback bars on the micro charts, that's a with-trend entry signal.
