    Hypnosis helpful ?

NoDoji, I always enjoy your thoughts. Your comments got me thinking of something i failed to consider in the first post. First, Do i have very specific set ups ? No, not as specific as i'd like. Alot of my time currently is being spent in trying to make my basic setups more specific to...

    Hypnosis helpful ?

EMDR. Had to google that one. Getting back to MDMA (ecstacy) don't quote me but i believe that's also been recently tested in PTSD. Unresolved root issues is probably a whole thread itself. Thanks for sharing

    Hypnosis helpful ?

I haven't tried acid but have read several books on it and know people that have used it. it's one of those 'some day' things with me. And have thought about in trading context as well. Re boot and break down the doors. But to paraphrase ..ah there's the rub .. for what dreams may come..

    Hypnosis helpful ?

I've recently been wondering if hypnosis would be helpful in my development as a trader. In searching ET i see very little written about. If anybody has experience with this please discuss. Handle, your name came up in the search. Care to share a little. What i'm wondering is if it's...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

thanks JP. great advice. I had laser focus MOST of the day but focused on a couple wrong things. Still i think something good must have been etched in the gray matter today. been noticing a few new nuances this week that will eliminate some of my common mistakes. Lots to review today too...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Exactly. I was in the state of mind of ready to take heat on the second trade but then outsmarted myself by watching the ES too much. lesson learned , i think. trades 3 and 4 attached. trade 4 not entirely proud of. trade 3 if anything should have exited sooner but i don't think it's...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

working hard for nothing so far. 4 trades net -2.25 points per contract. trading 2 cars today. was even after 3 trades. 1st three trades had good entries. 1st trade didn't get enough follow through and ES acting stronger so i exited. 2nd trade price made another new low and stalled. ES did...

    One Trade at a Time

Understand what S & R are. Resistance for example may be a fund selling at certain price over a a period of days. It can be traders who bought previously that have watched the stock fall and now that it's come back up are selling to get out even. And can be a self fulfilling level as traders...

    One Trade at a Time

yes those are the times i see areas of consolidation. more res at 190.85. i'm no expert so take it FWIW. But always good to know if your buying into resistance/ selling at support. How you define S/R is somewhat subjective and depends on timeframe.

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

So in regards to stops. I could pick my exit area first and then make sure my entry is with 2.25 points of that stop. The problem is then sometimes i'll miss trades because price is too far from stop. I've gone through this whole debate with myself months and years ago and I like the fixed...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Someday (soon) i'll be a decent trader. maybe not great but decent. -4 points today , 4 trades and net zero for week. Mostly i enter on breakouts. For whatever reason stalled pullbacks scare the shit out of me and i just stay out of them. Going to have to work on that because i'm missing...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

One of the things i look at , although not frequently, is the 10 period average of the nasdaq daily % range. The thought was it would give me an idea what to expect. It also seems to give a clue about volatility expansion/contraction if one assumes a relative low % range will return to a higher...

Nice call JP. chop. 1 short trade +5.25 MFE 10.00 I accept i will never master exits. However, I will try to improve on them. It just now occurs to me that on my trades that move a few points in my favor then retrace I am impatient (afraid ?) and exit too soon. With trades that run...
