    Will I.O.U.S.A. affect the markets?

National debt as a percent of GDP is the same as it has been for almost our entire existence. It is much lower than it was throughout several conflict periods in history. The figure is distorted by using the raw number.

I respectfully disagree. Trade whatever time frame you feel comfortable with. Study TA in depth but use it in conjunction with PA. The market place is a war zone. You just have to interpret the war and pick who is in control of the battle for the time being. Maybe you should study Psychology.

I trade forex, I'm an econ major. Don't think it really matters though. The only thing econ may help you with is fundamentals and I don't really trade on those so I guess I doesn't do anything for me. Do what you like. Focus on money management. It is more important than everything else.

I feel bad for the guy. A lesson to all. Don't let money define you. Or when you lose it you'll lose yourself.

    How should I invest $10k?

What are your objectives? Do you have any intention of trading for a living later in life or are you just being smart and investing a little while your young? If your intention is "ultra" long term I really like financials at these levels. If you want to be a little ballsy then look at some...

50% retracement in major commodity prices

People over estimate national debt. Take a look at this link. MOST IMPORTANTLY the first chart on the right side of the page. It shows national debt as percentage of gdp as opposed to just as a raw figure. As you can see when viewed in this more accurate light it is on average now with what it...

McCain = bullish, Obama = bearish for stocks?

If you don't like the guy then don't vote for him. I'm not going to try and convince you to. If you don't believe the things i wrote then thats cool. You may or may not like my source but I learned it all on the history channel/faith of my fathers. He was 22 when he graduated the academy, he was...

McCain = bullish, Obama = bearish for stocks?

You obviously have no clue about naval aviation. Flight training is extremely dangerous. Almost every pilot has close calls or actual incidents. By his own admittance he didn't want to attend the Naval Academy. He hated his father for forcing him to go. He rebelled the entire time he was there...

McCain = bullish, Obama = bearish for stocks?

We are going on the economic principle that 300,000,000 people are better at spending $10,000 a piece than 1 agency is at spending an extra 1 trillion.

48% of Crude positions held by speculators. One trader holds 10% of OI

I actually used to agree with a lot of the things you say but you obviously are just ignoring the facts in this case. Speculative players keep producers fair. I really think your anger for the drive up in oil is blinding you from what you know to be true. Come on your smarter than this.

48% of Crude positions held by speculators. One trader holds 10% of OI

Here you go friend. I'll post the link and the actual article. Speculators are basically a way of regulating markets. They keep producers from going crazy and actually prevent wild price swings. Happy reading...

48% of Crude positions held by speculators. One trader holds 10% of OI

I believe that the price of crude had an artificial run up. But I don't believe that there was any purposeful manipulation. Commodities were pretty much the only bull market in town and the money flows where its going to make more money. Speculation is GOOD in every market but in every good...
