No. I'll have to dig the book out to get to the details on the methodology.

Bad Advice, Retirement and your Mortgage

Everyone in this thread needs to buy or borrow a copy of the book "Missed Fortune." The author goes into great detail on why you do not want to give the bank YOUR money for them to control, and gives great detail (with illustrated numbers) on where to put it, and how it all comes together...

    Our future looks so bright...

That article is another reason I'm watching LESS news, and feeling MUCH better despite the "water cooler" talk about the sky falling. My question about all of the doom and gloom that gets harped on all the time: "what if things do get better?" People look at me funny with that one. I...

Citigroup double bottom or a buy at $5, you decide

I wouldn't touch C with a ten foot pole right now! They're not done bleeding yet from the write down "bed they made," and are having to sleep in. In time, they'll be back on the radar, but now isn't that time for me.

'There's You, & US. UBS. We'll Even Smuggle Diamonds In A Toothpaste Tube For You'

I'm sure the Feds will make sure the High Net Worth clients at UBS get a referral to Goldman Jacks  if a major investigation makes a stink.

'There's You, & US. UBS. We'll Even Smuggle Diamonds In A Toothpaste Tube For You'

I guess their slogan can go: "It's You, & Us, and especially Us." :D Maybe: "It's You & Us and... hold that thought. I've got to to to the head and drop a diamond. Be right back.":D

'There's You, & US. UBS. We'll Even Smuggle Diamonds In A Toothpaste Tube For You'

Absolutely no doubt!! In 2008, I think there are more horses asses running loose than horses to claim them. Makes my job harder by the second too.

    June 18, 2008 = Black Wednesday

I was afraid you would say that. Where do you think the spx, Nas, and dow will find support? I'm cringing, as I'm long in my Client Portfolios, and ahead, but only up on average 4.2% over the last several Months. More bleeding in equities would really suck!

I'm a performance-based RIA, and you should hear some of the strange things people are doing with their money. Young people getting out of the markets (at a low, of course), and going into cash. They're not even keeping pace with inflation, and are young enough (35-50) that they need growth if...

Chicken Little, or not, RBS warns of CRASH !

I agree. They sell off on bad news as the dumb money flows out... Crash on bad news, no.

I pray Obama replaces Bernake ASAP

Electing Obama is evidence that people in the US should NOT be ALLOWED to vote anymore as they're more than 50% stupid across the board. It's sad what this Country has come to... The average attention span is down to the equivalent of the average commercial. 30 Seconds... I turn on the T.V...

    Simple questions?

These are all good questions. Please understand that its very rare to be profitable your first couple of years. I would read the threads/posts here, buy the recommended books (trading in the zone, market wizards I and II, reminiscences of a stock operator, etc.,), then paper trade an actual...

Goldman, Merrill Almost `Junk,' Their Own Traders Say

I appreciate the kind words! It's a difficult job being performance based, but when the regulators stop in for one of their surprise audits, I don't have any problems either. And yes, I've read through a few memorandums recently, and am finding some fees that would be pretty easy to forget...

Goldman, Merrill Almost `Junk,' Their Own Traders Say

Ok, here you go: When I was a rookie (even though My Step Dad got in the business in 1961, and me trading contracts, and some equities in my own account for over 14 years), I was getting paid $36,000/year at Merrill, and had to give EVERY Client I brought in for the first 6 Months to my...
