Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

I have a strict money management discipline, but will bend a little here though. How about "equities typically outpace bonds and cash?" If it sounds bad here, then I don't want that for my Clients either, so it might need to be above? You can help me fine tune this. I explain the use of...

WTF - Fortis, RBC, Barclays, GS - all calling for a FINANCIAL MELTDOWN!!!!

I'll take back the Obama comment. Btw, I don't like either choice as well. Just scared of Odumba. I agree either is going to have an absolute hand full to deal with.

Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

Hey keep it down! The regulators will get us. You said "never" and "always" again.:D Just messing with ya! Btw, I'm not a salesperson. I get paid a fee for performance. A salesperson gets a commission upfront for a product/investment which means the broker gets paid whether or not the...

WTF - Fortis, RBC, Barclays, GS - all calling for a FINANCIAL MELTDOWN!!!!

Interesting clips! And, if we get Odumba (scary) for President, and he goes wild with taxes, putting in countless bureaucratic government-run social programs, etc., in this environment...

WTF - Fortis, RBC, Barclays, GS - all calling for a FINANCIAL MELTDOWN!!!!

I didn't see a beaten down consumer confidence like this in 2000-2002. I make a few calls to people I'm refered to, and hear some "colorful" responses. In fact, I think some would rather talk about their sex life, or toilet habits than dare talk about investing. No kidding! The...

WTF - Fortis, RBC, Barclays, GS - all calling for a FINANCIAL MELTDOWN!!!!

It's starting to look this way.:( One thing I am noticing is the fact that the IBES charts show equities under valued by 45% at present time. In 1999, equities were over valued a little over 60%. Of course, we all know what happened in 2000-2002. What do you think? Good post, btw!:)

Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

You said this: "You might say, historically there has never been a period covering X years where stocks have underperformed bonds and cash." Then said: "Never and always are two words that clearly shouldn't be used when attempting to predict the future." :D And, I don't "give...

    Ideas for struggling traders

I've never met a consistently good trader with a bad attitude... The nasty attitude types fizzle out quickly, like they should.

Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

You must be managing your assets well. I "appreciate" the comments.:p How about bonds and cash always lag equities long term? Would that work for you to get the point across?

Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

I didn't know Kudlow threw in the towel yesterday. I didn't get to watch. My Wife decided to hide the remote, as I'm long the markets in my Client's Portfolios, and may have been tempted to watch CNBC (as much as I dislike their reporting), and become grumpier.:D In a Client's 2.8mm all...

Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

Long term (7-10 years), equities always outpace bonds and cash.

    The End of the SEC?

I've got about three more years, and I'm geting out of retail. I LOVE managing people's money, and seeing them get somewhere financially because of my help. I'm performance-based, so I've got to perform. Not just draw a fee, and send them a statement from a 3rd party money manager. I DESPISE...

    The End of the SEC?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!  And I thought 10m was bad for an old business card in a file. Something's gotta give, as I'm actually watching investors (mom and pops) being harmed by the regulators, not helped. If the loss is small (to the regulators), and their is true financial...

    Pfizer Dividend

Exactly! They have ZERO pipeline. I know they're at a new ten year low, and their P/E is about "right," but the pipeline is dry as clacy noted. I wouldn't risk it for a 7.20% div yield. PFE is trading 8% under the 50dma, and 18% under the 200. I'd be on the sidelines on PFE for now.

Barclay's bank says "head for the hills"

I'm a RIA (performance based), and can tell you that the people I have been introduced to by current Clients aren't very happy with the markets and economy. They're saying things like: "I know my money won't keep pace with inflation. I don't care. I pulled out all stocks last month, week...
