    intraday time decay?

But wait if and I think IBM does give dividends. Then the price changes again because with a dividend the value of the call option decreases. At that point the calculation becomes an interest rate vs dividend yield question... No...

    intraday time decay?

Blackscholes is one calculation... And while it is the daddy of them all using it as reference could start a debate... Whoops already there... ;)

The myth of quality European banking

I think you are right with respect to the big account little account discrepancy. I seriously would take my money elsewhere. There are banks that are not crap. WRT to comparison to Americans... fair enough... My point there is often Europeans or Americans when in each other's "territory"...

The myth of quality European banking

First... Broken English? WTF? Ok, I want an American fund manager speaking Greek, Italian, German or Swedish? Oh wait you don't have that! The fact that they are speaking English to you is good. Next myth of European banks and investments? Yeah it is not like the American banks are making...

Ok I can buy that... (or should I say sell that ;) ) Seriously respect on your record! Good for you!

impossible to make monthly income..with options spreads without BIG money!

I completely agree the strategy is viable. I looked at your plays and find them quite interesting. Closer than what I play, but interesting. Though I moved from playing the SPY to ES, CL, etc... How come you have not?

I sold a big call credit spread.

Personally, interesting... In the ballpark I would say... I have not updated my numbers, but just looking at the numbers could be interesting... Though if it was me I would actually probably play a bit higher... I typically own the underlying (have a portfolio, my friends say I am my own...

I sold a big call credit spread.

Closed it with profit. If a position is this far and theta is against me I just take my profits and run. And you are right it is quite a thing to talk and another to do. Answer I do do. Though typically not on individual stocks. Too hard to model.

I sold a big call credit spread.

Interesting so you keep enough reserves. Smart... Yes those puts were pure cash. Had a bunch of 83 puts that I sold naked. Typically I play naked calls or puts only.

I sold a big call credit spread.

You are right... I roll, or I close. Actually I don't usually play stocks since they do event gap. However, if I may talk about a play. I closed my SPY call positions yesterday and took my profits. I was interested in seeing how people manage these things.

I sold a big call credit spread.

Another quick question... I am guessing by this action this is what you usually do. Take a high return spread, but face the fact that more often than not you need to take alternative action? I on the other hand don't buy the underlying, just stay out of the way of the market. Of course lower...

I sold a big call credit spread.

I was following this trade and here is question why buy the underlying and not close the position? It did not seem to me that you would have like this without plan b... I looked at the numbers and there were some points when you could have closed at a profit? BTW I kind of guessed that you...

I sold a big call credit spread.

I am not trying to rub salt into the wound. Far from it, actually think that the original poster probably has many positions and hence this one going south is probably not going to matter to him. What I am trying to disprove were those who thought I had no clue when I said I would have...

I sold a big call credit spread.

Looks like it increased a dollar to 15.38. Thus if the position was not closed it would be loosing quite a bit of money. Considering the theta has collapsed and there is very little premium this trade was a bit too risky. This is what I meant from my previous point saying the 16/17 spreads...

I sold a big call credit spread.

Hmm... GE upgrade... That 16/17 spread sort of looks REALLY good... Sure it yielded less, but it is a safe zone... It is trading at 14.48... And we still have 9 trading days left... They might push this sucker just to piss everyone off... GE might drop, and it all depends on what the...

Dennis Gartman, what kind of joker this is

Gartman is a momentum player. Yes he changes his mind often, but he plays the momentum card. So I really cant blame him. Though if there is one thing I like about him is that he plays what he sees, not what he thinks. All too often I hear from the commentators (especially when the market...

I sold a big call credit spread.

That is a dangerous move... The market is not going to be kind to you. In our hedge fund we focus on selling premium. That's all we do... And the main trader (I am junior trader-analyst) has a saying they don't give you that money for free. He would not touch a play like under any circumstance...

Businessweek: The U.S. Can Learn A Lot from France's Superior Health Care System

I just cracked up laughing... It is so TRUE... We got cable. Saw very little violence, but Friday and Saturday nights saw hardcore porn on the regular Canal+ channels. That surprised me... Our first Christmas in France was interesting to say the least. We went shopping at Carrefour and...

Businessweek: The U.S. Can Learn A Lot from France's Superior Health Care System

No I used to live in Mougins, and then later in Opio... Near the what used to be the olive mill. Nice place to live actually. Especially since there (a couple of years back) was a lady who used to sell pizza from a mobile van at night. REALLY GOOD pizza... I free-lanced, but my wife worked in...
