How do I short the Transports?

k its not a one year trendline, its 6 months. I see higher highs in april but 4600 will not serve as support.

How do I short the Transports?

The one year trendline about to break to the downside. Is there an ETF or emini that tracks this index. I'm sure there must be an ETF out there. IMO for every ETF there ought be an emini, f stocks.

    YM Traders

Yes I mean per contract. 200 NET points per contract per day is possible but extremely improbable. You'd have to scalp very actively all day to get that many points.

    Trading against the Pro's?

    1) No 2) No The specialist has nothing to do with your performance as a trader. A mentor is invaluable but only as a risk manager. He can teach you his strategy and his style but it probably won't fit your personality. The only value of a mentor is that he tells you to stop trading when...

    YM Traders

Whats a realistic long term average amount of points to take out of the YM per day/week. I'm thinking 20-day/100-week. Thats a 50% unleveraged return per year. People will beg you to manage money for them if you can manage that level of performance over the long run with size.

    Start With a Small Stake

Yes being adequately capitalized is a huge advantage for any business, but I think new traders should start with as small as a stake as possible. Huge drawdowns are common for new guys so could you imagine taking a 50% hit on 300k as opposed to 3k - %wise its the same but the mental stress of...

    Start With a Small Stake

For all newcommers that ask how much to start with, a lot of guys here say 25k or higher. I disagree, I think you need to start with as small of a stake as possible - like 5k or less. Because the more your start with - the more you will probably lose - which messes you up mentality and you...

    11350 - Bears Last Stand

Very true. In that case I hope its off to the races to 12000+ soon. I want to see big rally or big selloff, anything that'll push the volitility up so we can get back to the 1%+ daily ranges on the major indexes.

    11350 - Bears Last Stand

Watch Bob Pisani talk about this all day tommorrow. Wonder if he'll do a dance if it breaks.

    11350 - Bears Last Stand

If we can close above that level, especially for the week then its off to 12000. I see a rejection, support test (50 ma?, 200ma?), then the break - if not then that'll be the high.

Does IB or any Broker Offer Risk Controls for Traders?

Thanks, I just looked up ButtonTrader and they do allow traders to pre-set both single trade and daily loss limits...which is nice but there is no mention of other ways to manage risk though.

Does IB or any Broker Offer Risk Controls for Traders?

I posted this in the IB suggestions thread: Traders don't have risk managers like hedge funds so how about allowing traders to control risk by allowing them to: limit the # of shares or contracts they can trade freeze the account (no more trades can be placed other than closing current...
