    Will war actually be bullish?

That's probably the most valid argument for leaving His Excellency President Saddam Hussein in power. Which we all know is going to happen again...

    BS trading today

Interesting. I didn't know that. But even if it had been an entry error, I wouldn't blame you. It's certainly not your responibility to call up the exchange and have your trade busted because the fill was too good for you.

    BS trading today

I was not involved in this particular trade, but something like that happened to me a few months ago due to an entry error. I sold ISLE on the bid before the market opened. If I had been an institution I could have gotten the trade busted, but since I'm not, I had to eat the loss.

Bandwidth is not that important. Latency is what you should be concerned about.

    if saddam were to die

That's why I used the term "jump start". A car won't take you from Tampa to Sarasota if you just jump start it. But if you have enough gas and everything works except your battery, then all you need is a jump start. If your battery is dead and you only have an ounce of gas left, a jump...

    Short Delta Neutral

Check the quotes, you will find that this exact scenario has already been factored in by the markets: Market value of short put plus long call is exactly market value of stock plus interest difference for the time until expiration. Well, not exactly. It's usually a little more or a little...

    Whoa Baby! What happened?

That's true if ESH3 was his only position, but if he had other contracts or stocks in his account, they might have been liquidated because of the huge (albeit temporary) drop in account equity. Let's say I have an IB universal account with 20 different long stock positions and short ESH3 as a...

    if saddam were to die

On the emini thread someone said he thought Saddam had died. I wonder if the market would actually rally in that case. I mean, the reason why we will have the war is to jump start the economy. If Saddam dies, the US will have to look for another excuse to take that measure. I know that...

    Whoa Baby! What happened?

Actually, what happens to that guy now that the trades have been broken? Will his broker just give him a courtesy-unliquidation? Something tells me not.

    Whoa Baby! What happened?

Sorry to quote myself, but upon second thought: IF you had the mental capacity and computer skills to implement such a mechanism, you wouldn't be running an exchange, you would be a profitable arbitrageur. Those who can't make a living trading obviously drop out into running exchanges.

    Whoa Baby! What happened?

I find that reasoning logical, too. I suggested it on here in the case of ISLD. The point is if you are going to bust trades based solely upon price action, it is your responsibility to do everything you can (like add some 20 bytes of code to the matching algorithm) to prevent these trades...

    Whoa Baby! What happened?

I disagree. But since all the "electronic exchange" casinos seem to be operating like this, I suppose I am in the minority. If I buy 2000 shares instead of 200, do you think anyone breaks my trade? Fair would be to have clients check their orders before they send them to the exchange, and...

    Whoa Baby! What happened?

I don't know how Globex handles these matters, but I know how the monkeys at ISLD deal with it: If you are an individual you can't bust a trade or get any form of answer from them. Certain organizations can bust any trade they want. I don't know the exact details about what kind of favors...
