technical Strategies ! What is most important ?

imo...trading psychology is more important than whatever technical strategy you choose to trade. If you can't get a grip on what happens between your ears strategy choice becomes insignificant. With that in mind, I'd highly recommend you read Trading in the Zone, by Mark Douglas.

Greek bonds pricing default? 1-year 82%

The last time I saw a quote of something in the area of 82% was when Enron was in trouble. We all know how that ended.

Greek bonds pricing default? 1-year 82%

The 2-year is near 50%. I don't think I've ever seen sovereign bond rates this high. A Greek default would send shock waves throughout Europe. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/quote?ticker=GGGB1YR:IND

USPS on the brink of collapse unless Congress intervenes

Close the damn thing down, aside from a few regional offices. The only thing that arrives in my mailbox is friggin ads and junk mail. Can't remember the last time I licked a friggin stamp.

Cut Corporate Tax Rates......not without something in return

Great plan. So instead of employing 15% of the employees overseas, for example, let's let them employ 100%. Have any idea what it takes for a startup to get to the level of a Cisco? Go to Cisco's website and follow their history.

Cut Corporate Tax Rates......not without something in return

There's nothing to prevent a US corporation from completely moving 100% of their assets overseas permanently. Imagine Cisco becoming a Swiss company rather than a US one. The US has the highest Corporate Tax Rate, second only to Japan. I don't think this graph is 100% correct but it gives a...

Cut Corporate Tax Rates......not without something in return

Little to stimulate job growth? So much of American jobs is going overseas because of the high corporate tax rate. Without going into a lengthy rip on the topic, do a bit of research on exactly how Ireland rescued their economy from the dogs. Multi-nationals pay next to nothing in the way...

Aggressive people are better traders !!!

You don't have to be an asshole. You need unwavering confidence, perhaps to the level of being somewhat arrogant.

    Future account with 5k...which brokers?

Even if you had only 5k there is nothing wrong with starting at that amount. $500 intra-day margin gives you 10 lots to play with. Begin trading 1 lot and you are using 10% of your capital, which is a reasonable amount. Don't listen to the people critcizing you. I think you're better off...

IB can liquidate your positions whenever they want?

Not necessarily. In a fast market option spreads can get out of whack with prices, causing the liquidation. I suppose the algorithm looks at the price a person would have to exit at should they choose to do so and liquidates the position. IB is notorious for this. Precisely the reason I will...

    Future account with 5k...which brokers?

We all had to start somewhere, right? Not everyone has the luxury of starting out with 50 or 100k. Pick a broker with $500 intra-day margins. Global Futures comes to mind, also Infinity, and many others.

Why is the market going up?

The FED will continue to print money because it's simply what they do. They need asset inflation but in the meantime we're going to get commodity inflation, which will cause widespread pain around the globe. What do you think will happen at $6 or $7 gasoline? People will drive to and from...

US Central Time vs UK time

Chicago would be your reference point for Central time. Just add one more hour to get 6 hours. The best volume session is the day session, which is from 8:30am to 3:15pm (many econ numbers come out at 7:30 CST so there are trading opps before the equity markets open). That would translate to...

Any brokers who issue schedule D's

I don't list my stock trades individually on D or D-1. I list the sum total per broker on D and attach the brokers 1098-B. I've been doing that for more than a decade and not once has the IRS taken issue with it. There have been years my D-1 would have been several 100 pages. Hell no. Just...
