No, just on the single leg. If we really start moving I might make something back on the long leg. I love the lottery tickets.:D

Actually, SPY reached almost 131.5 midday yesterday. I'm gutsy and that still would've scared me. In regards to your question Opra, I got a few notices from TOS, but you can also find the info on the CBOE web site. For SPY ex-div is the third friday in MAR, JUN, SEP, DEC. :D

Looks like I've got a few worthless expirations. The one exception might be the GS 150/155 bear call. It is pushing the boundaries a little bit. I've got a stop order in so we'll see where we come out.

Dividend [edit] notice the gap down this morning on the SPY chart Always know when dividends are coming when you initiate a position, they are a silent killer in options trading.

I agree, but I am getting kind of close on one position as a result of a roll last month that I played too close. I'm going from a significantly bearish opinion to one that is much more bullish though. But the bullish move might not continue without a bit of a retracement.

Well, I'm starting to think I'm going to have to change my opinion on the market. It seems to be following a nice long term bullish channel and looking back 6 or 7 years, there isn't really any defined resistance ahead. That really blows as I will now have to adjust my APR calls. In...

Covered calls are essentially the safest/most uncomplicated form of options trading that a firm can allow in order to keep up with the competition but not jump into options trading completely. Only allowing covered calls ensures that you will always own the underlying to the extent that if you...

I believe for the most part, the main thing that the IRS doesn't allow in retirement accounts is naked selling, but don't listen to me, I don't trade a retirement account.

I'm actually not that familiar with RUT. As I trade many individual equities, I don't utilize too many indices at the same time. Of the indices, the S&P 500 is my favorite, but I made good money last year on DJX.

IMO, the IRS will always be playing catch-up when it comes to their stance on options strategies. The bright/imaginative minds of traders have to develope the strategies first, then the IRS gets to argue about how to tax them. :D

Any experience with XSP? Seems that the fills would be just as good as SPY but are European style. They are more thinly traded though.

If you haven't done so yet, take a quick look at the video tutorials (especially the analyze tutorial). There are a couple features that I didn't know about until I watched those. Pretty cool what you can do with TOS.

RIMM dropped down quick enough that I was able to roll the calls into APR for a credit, so I took the opportunity. I think they are about ready for a breather but expiry is only a day away. Figured I would lock in another months time to let them pull back a bit.

You can do this on the analysis page of the TOS desktop platform. You can further analyze the position by locking in the fill price of each leg and then adjusting the volatility and date to determine the effects of the different greeks' changes on your position. I think you'll be delighted...

Well it didn't once the beige book came out it didn't look like SPY was going to come back down, so I had to bail out on the 130 short calls @ .5 for a measly $20 gain.
