Refco - $4/RT. Anyone use em?

Well yeah, that's why the offer is irrelevant. However you do seem to have good deals for higher volume traders, I'll give you that.

What a range on the ES!!!

I suspected that you this would be your reply.. and you are right, I was just using the term for illustrative purposes. Price volume and time only, I agree. Just was too lazy to describe the price dynamics in my post so I used the slogan word "bear flag"...

What a range on the ES!!!

Yes I noticed that too... the so called "failed bear flag" after the initial thrust down at 8:30. It definitely accounts for the beginning of the move up.

What a range on the ES!!!

Indeed. Recognizing what state the market is (its rhythm) and applying the relevant strategies is the first and foremost key to trading.

    Esignal 60-minute Charts

Hi DuaneG, Thanks for your help. I understand how this works and I was suggesting a change.. some sort of a "smart 60min chart" in which the first bar of the day will be 9:30-10:00, and the following ones wil be 11:00, 12:00, etc. Many software do have this "smart 60min chart". Anyway...

What a range on the ES!!!

yeah expansion-contraction is the most basic principal of market movement. I took no trades this morning..... damn.. I am used to the slower pace. But after seeing this I am building some "crazy momentum strategies" for myself. We don't see this that often these days but when we do, it gives...

    Esignal 60-minute Charts

If I use 60min with the Equity EST time template, it starts at 9:30 but then continues as 10:30, 11:30 and so on, instead of correcting itself to round hours (i.e. 9:30, but then 10:00, 11:00... there are a lot of softwares that can smartly do that). That's also annoying. So I use a 9:00-16:00...

    A Little Help With eSignal

Just a guess but you may have reduced screen resolution, and the global cursor window is now "outside your screen"? Try to increase your screen resolution to the maximum settings your monitor supports, and then see if the cursor window becomes visible? Hope this helps 50

    Question about risk

Osama... i doubt it would shake the markets. There have been too many rumors about it already, plus, capturing osama would be a good thing for Bush, and some people don't see that as a positive thing. I too can't think of a scenario that will hype the markets overnight but, as it...

    Question about risk

That is the holy grail in trading. If you manage to keep this attitude consistently, you will be profitable. It's not always psychologically easy, but when you get beaten up a few times for not adopting this attitude, it becomes easier.... we only learn through pain, especially us speculators..

    Question about risk

You can't know that... because you don't know what is the character of the huge sell off / squeeze. There could be a huge gap up in the morning and right at the open it would sell off all the way back down (e.g. saddam's capture day). If you keep a small account, you'll surely get liquidated at...

    tasc readers choice awards?

TASC is one big joke. There is only one advantage to this magazine and that is the sponsors' ads. Helps you stay on your toes about new products and vendors. The actual content is nothing but snake oil. It's not even elaborate snake oil, it's simply a joke.

How to use the Advance Decline Line

Consider using the nyse trin ($TRIN) and nasdaq trin ($TRINQ) instead. It incorporates advancing and declining volume as well as advancing and declining issues. If you chart the trin you may see nice chart patterns at times. Most of the time it's not that helpful, but I still have it on my screen.

    Question about risk

Indices are very unlikely to drop to zero overnight. I mean even in 9-11 the gap wasn't that enormous. However if you are short..... and something really nice happens in the world.... you may have a problem. You are still at much less risk than if you are trading stocks. One day a manager...
