Seeking Immediate Advice on Covered Call

You may be assigned if you don't do anything with the calls. Meaning, you'd be forced to sell them at 67$ and 70$ respectively. When you do this type of strategy, you usually have a plan: Why you do this, and what you'll do next. If you are asking the question it's because you didn't answer the...

How many years to get pro

Most of people trying don't even get there (profitable) and most just give up. It's not just putting the hours and the effort. Not everyone can be profitable. Not everyone can make enough money to justify the effort and risk involve. And on top of that, the journey is not linear. You don't...

How much data do you need to make a decision?

Well, no pain no gain. There ain't such thing as a free lunch. And 6 months seems short IMO. But you asked the question and you got some answers. Not the answers that you wanted to hear obviously.

How much data do you need to make a decision?

First, we never have too much data. There ain't such thing as 'I failed cause I had too much data'. 70 trades seems low in terms of sample, although you didn't specify your time frame. If you hold each position for several month, then 70 might be enough. If you do day trading, it's surely not...

    Money Management Question

Those numbers are compounded. 120% over 19 years is a bit more than 4% per year. Far from 25% per year.

Can price predict it's own future?

All those esoteric concepts are interesting, but to help make money from trading, not so sure.... There are many more simple ways.

    Index futures automation

IMO, you should be proud of your results so far. The more you want to make, the more risk you will take. There is no miracle way to do it. Doing 5%/month with no (or few!) losing days is very good. You should not think about what you have left on the table, because you can never take everything...

noob questions and how do people get rich trading!?

If you need money fast, I don't think trading would be the solution for you (or anybody)! For you other questions, maybe you could start with my friend Google. He knows a bit about everything...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

I don't track many metrics cause I don't need to. One of the most important for me is the DD Recovery ratio (currently at approx. 1 month). I don't size based on how much I can win, but on how much I can lose. Having said that, most of wannabe profitable traders want to win all the time, and...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Not at all. Even with 75% of winning weeks, you could be losing all months and all years. Unless the average of profit during the winning weeks is equal to the average of profit during the losing weeks, which is not the case for my results. And I realized that I've made a mistake: It's 60% of...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Without going to much into the details: 40% of win rate (not much important for me). 60% of winning weeks 80% of winning months. Averaging 5 positions/day. With tight risk management rules (key of capital preservation)

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

I don't use trailing stop, nor hard profit target. My algo triggered for an exit at that time.

Most of your post today seems to point that you were forecasting the market to go down today. But maybe I misunderstood your posts. Mea culpa if this is the case.

Seems like you try to go against the tide!! Maybe you should go with the flow instead of trying to predict what's next. Just me 2 cents. I might be wrong.

Preferred days in the week for day traders

My strategy/model/algo is suited more for trendy days than choppy days where the open-close trading range is narrower. Tuesdays are more the latter.

Preferred days in the week for day traders

Are you stats use the previous close or current open to calculate the ranges?

Preferred days in the week for day traders

You are right. We are not talking about the same thing at all. I don't really care about the basic return profile of weekdays which is too academic for my needs. As I previously mentioned, my results are based on the strategy/model I'm using. And a different one would give different results...

Preferred days in the week for day traders

I'm not arguing with you. It's not about believing it or not. You've done your tests, using a particular approach and found no evidence. So for you, there isn't a day worst or better profit wise. I respect and believe your results and conclusion. I've done my tests, using a different approach...

Preferred days in the week for day traders

Correct. I don't trade on Tuesdays. Although yesterday would have been good, but that's just one day. Even if I reverse everything, it's still a non-profitable day.
