Short survey for market research regarding Real-time Futures market data

Those fees are basically licensing fees in a sense. I can’t go around redistributing CME data legally. Sounds crazy but they own the data.

Short survey for market research regarding Real-time Futures market data

Be curious about licensing. One of the expensive parts I’ve noticed about futures data is the exchange fees. Their is a waiver if your feed hooks into a platform that can execute trades and you also have a futures trading account. Here’s some examples from IQFeed of exchange fees...

    Blowouts

Don’t have an IB account but isn’t that most likely paper money? Assuming the paper money default is 1 million? Not a blowout but always found this video hilarious. Still remember the first 1000 I lost on one trade in a morning gap. Didn’t notice earnings coming up. Funny how I’ve grown...

    Futures open interest

The problem is those contracts change hands. Think your looking for something like “volume at price” “market profile”. Nothing like what you described however.

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

I never dug into it but I remember listening to a podcast with Ernest Chan and he mentioned a home licence of Matlab. They don’t advertise it but think it’s like 100$ vs 2K plus they advertise for commercial use.

The effect of short CME Futures contracts on the price of bitcoin.

Interesting article. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/11/20/regulators-investigate-whether-bitcoin-price-was-propped-up-illegally.html Read this one recently. I never touched this stuff. I just don’t understand the idea of having a currency that requires a crap ton of power...

I am done with Futures... going back to Forex

Don’t quote me on this but I would guess the difference is how their backadjusting the contracts. Do they backadjust? When do they roll a contract, do they adjust by a level, maybe a ratio? I always found using price levels on a continuous future chart a weird idea. Perhaps someone...

Did y'all catch that ES opening?

Isn’t the old saying markets go where they hurt the most people? The overall view is down so probably time to go long.

NxCore data feed on QUODD is unusable

Out of curiosity, since you guys are using NXCore, is Quodd something NXCore developed or is it the same arrangement they had with DTN and they just handle the transmission of the data?

NxCore data feed on QUODD is unusable

Haven’t used IQFeed in over a year but I don’t remember it providing split dates. Their EOD data was split adjusted while intraday was not. None of their data was dividend adjusted and the only information for dividends is the last ex dividend and last dividend amount. NxCore must’ve supplied...

[Stocks] - software, that allows customized scan on stock universe?

I wouldn’t throw out Amibroker and IQFeed out as an option. ( I use yahoo and TC2000 for EOD) As far as stocks go where I flip through 500 plus charts at EOD, it’s the best I’ve used. The great thing about it for stocks is how easy it is to manage sectors, industries, markets, groups and...

I am a new trader with under $25,000 looking to day trade, what should I do to start?

Equity market micro structure is a frigging mess. I’ve watched quite a few documentaries on the flash crash( vpro has one I thought was well done). I understand the idea of having all these exchanges was to create competition and reduce cost for customers but theirs got to be a better way...

I am a new trader with under $25,000 looking to day trade, what should I do to start?

Very curious here what benefit Direct Market Access has. I trade EOD myself. I’m aware of payment for order flow but as far as I know your required to get a price improvement over the NBBO. I’m wondering where DMA would help. As an EOD trader I generally just use a marketable limit order...

Recent read a story about some fund that bought BTC @ $40,000... Whoa!

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-13/professor-who-rang-vix-alarm-says-tether-used-to-boost-bitcoin This topic is older but a similar article popped up on a newsfeed for myself the other idea. Never followed Bitcoin hype myself or really dug in to what it actually was. If the...

Is it easier to trade consistently for profits with futures than stocks?

It methodology sounds like being over leveraged and trying to scalp, with the right funding stocks and futures can be identical.

Is it easier to trade consistently for profits with futures than stocks?

A short squeeze is just another way of saying too many traders crowding a trade. For instance this October when the markets took a decent correction we don’t call it a long squeeze. I wouldn’t put that issue to stocks only. I fail to see how stock trader would differ from a index trader in a...

    Gap strategy

Just hit the sim and try it. Looks easy but markets move fast, the first chart moved with direction of gap, the second chart moved opposite of gap... If you can find a positive expectancy with gaps then your ready to go. If you think your just flipping coins then good luck.
