    .sigma's butterfly book

I've been spraying and praying flies all over the market for the past year, messing around with all alterations and iterations of the beautiful butterfly play. Of course the great riskarbatticusdestrieroconvexxdonpruf opened my eyes to the potentials of fly trading. I trade other strategies...

Both tails to what distribution? It depends on what exactly are you talking about? For example one could look at the distribution of the effect of government intervention on volatility. Plot the SPX returns then plot a running SPX 21d return distro, the effects of intervention also has tail...

Probably for crowd funding? They were initially a small start up. Then grew steadily. Tastytrade is the media, tastyworks is the software, dough is the financial media app, the small exchange is a freekin exchange, the quiet foundation (not sure what this is) etc etc.. this is a nice little empire.

Are you surprised avg traders are getting killed? I mean c'mon, they are "avg" right? Anybody who has 20-40 open trades mostly if not all of it is short gamma and long theta, OTM stuff. If this guy doesn't hedge or stress test his portfolio for a magnitude move, then obviously he's in trouble...

    Adjusted Option Question/Example

I would stay away from trading this product. Especially the options. I glanced at XOP chain and it looks hideous. Too illiquid man. Trade USO instead.

This post is spot on. Only exception is you said Tom probably didn't make a dime trading at the CBOE. He made a living trading in the pit. So did Tony. They both traded in the pits for 25 years.

sle, this reminds me of open interest for options on single-names, kind of. Pin risk of some sort. I've been utilizing wing-spreads a lot lately (ATMF put flies usually) on single-names and sometimes on index or ETF's. But when I'm in the option chain, I do glance at the OI for different...
