When this thing is finalized it's going to tank the market.

This is a head fake. I shorted a few financials into the close. My time frame is within 2-3 days before this thing rolls over, so I'm scaling into some other puts.

GS is the only good broker dealer out there. Their decisions in the past 2 years show that they are worth keeping your money in. Plus, Paulson will surely tip them off as he probably still has some stock in the company. Short all financials, long GS is a great pair trade.

We shall see very soon. I was just thinking about RIMM's absolute bomber recently. AAPL may be taking some market share.

For the sake of this country, I hope they decide not to pass the FRE, FNM bailout, and the additional powers to the fed and treasury. The free markets may work it out ahead of time, hopefully.

Why bother shorting these names now, you've got the government bailing them out, and their interest is to see them go much higher. They have a lot more staying power than traders. Move on.

Here's my perspective on this. Saudi Arabia increased output by 500k barrels per day in June. There's probably a lag of a month or two before that output comes out of the ground, gets onto ships and into the market. So, here we are 1 month later, and already we're seeing some downward pressure...

That's what I'm saying. Afterhours action barely budged to the downside. Probably all the good money shorting the financials is over at least until we get a huge dead cat bounce.

Most brokers won't allow you to naked short, the system flags it before it goes through. . If you're trading prop, maybe your system would allow it to go through. You can get a huge fine for naked shorting.

You look at book value. You have to actually open up the financial statements and peek inside. See if their assets are more than their liabilities and put a price on it.
