My week hasn't been spectular, but I am at $1100 for my goal.

That is my understanding. I am looking to have a stereo room and tv 7.1 channel room. I want to be able to play the stereo and relax, and have the theater experience for movies. The ideal is to turn one off to enjoy the other. Please post your recomendations for receivers, amps and so forth.

I head out 10 minutes before markets close on the kids run, and don't get back from sports drop off, etc. until, well now. So, it would be nice if it were recorded and available.

My point is high end is relative. Low end is obvious, but high end is most likely somewhere in between. I think I hear everything, but the differences between my 25 year old stereoe and my 2011 car stereo are stupid. The 2011 car stereo is horrible compared to the stereo of 25 years ago.
