    IB buying on the open?

You did not try to buy the open, what you saw, was the pre-opening. Since 1.7.2003 IB distributes the "ticks" of the pre-opening phase on Eurex. The trading day on Eurex starts with the pre-trading phase: participants may enter and change orders, but no market data are shown. Then...

    IB TWS hotkeys

You mean the symbol for the DAX? You do not need to do that. Highlight the market data line for the FDAX and press your hot-key. If you have chosen to configure the hot-key with some safety buffer, for example, buy the ask+0.5, this buffer is specific to the product you want to trade. So...

    IB brackets

You may enter orders, which cancel each other, by making use of the OCA feature: just give these orders the same "OCA group" name. The group may consist of more than two orders. You have to configure the layout of your page ("Page"->"Layout") in a way that the field "OCA group" is displayed...

    eMini Trading Courses

Sure? There is a saying, something like: Experience is the worst teacher of all, because the exams start, before the lessons have begun. :) How true! Regards Bernd Kuerbs

    New Trading Computer

Are you sure? These SCSI drives usually are designed for file/database servers, i.e. they make a lot of noise. So, if you do not have an extra server room, think twice. I once used a SCSI drive (7kRPM), I was happy to dump it when I bought a new computer. regards Bernd Kuerbs

Bracket Trader and TWS build 797

I have never done it, you should check the IB-forum. You have to uninstall TWS, download the previous version from the IB page (www.interactivebrokers.com - > systems, it is version 795) and install it. Sounds easy enough, but there are some catches in it. Better search the IB-forum for advice...

You will find a discussion of the problem in the IB-Forum: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/discus/messages/2/13202.html?1055832951 You have to roll back your TWS-version, until there is a fix by IB (or Bracket-Trader). regards Bernd Kuerbs

    Matrox g450 Q.

I really do not know about the 450 and XP, because I'm using a 550 and 2000Pro. How is your desktop configured? As one stretching over both monitors? That is when e.g. the resolution for the monitor is 1280x1024, have you configured it as 2560x1024? Try to configure each monitor...

    System suddenly slow

First test is to disconnect the PC from the internet. Do not only shut-down the connection, pull out that cable. Does it operate at normal speed now? The address plumlazy gave looks nice, www.symantec.com/securitycheck might also be useful. If you have caught a trojan horse, it is not...

    System suddenly slow

Did you try to monitor CPU-usage? Start the task-manager (right-click in the systray). How is the system-performance: lots of cpu-usage? Have a look at memory-usage: How much memory is available? Then have a look at cpu-usage: click tab Processes and then click the header of the column...

Book on Percentages & Probabilities of TA Setups

I do not know books that systematically research TA, but there are some articles: http://web.mit.edu/alo/www/articles.html scroll down to #26 "Foundation of Technical Analysis". If you do not understand the math, skip it. The conclusions are quite interesting. Regards Bernd Kuerbs

    too dumb

Introduce the range as grouping variable for your H/O etc. numbers and do some ANOVA or better the non-parametric equivalent. I did not do it, but I'm confident it will be significant. Regards Bernd Kuerbs

    too dumb

Have a look at the range: That is the difference between High and Low, R = High - Low. When the range is large, chances are LN(H/O) is large ditto for the other relations and when the range is low all these relations have a small value. That's all. I have not looked at these relations too...

    using a router to trade

I'm using an almost identical configuration: two computers connected to an DSl-modem via router. Your router includes a switch or you connect your PC's via switch the the router? If you do not start downloading videos there will be no interference. The data TWS receives / transmits don't...
