Best way to get W7 to hold size/position of windows?

The advantage of having multiple monitors is so that, at a glance, you can observe the information by slightly moving your head. Maybe on the same instrument at different time-frames. Or comparing the relative strength/weakness of different instruments. Or different sectors. It is much...

Best way to get W7 to hold size/position of windows?

Correction: Dragging to RIGHT or LEFT edge to maximize on half the screen.

Best way to get W7 to hold size/position of windows?

Oh okay. I knew the behavior in Win 7 but not the name. Aero snap. Takes a little to get used to. Once you know what it is doing, it's okay. Dragging to top to maximize. Dragging to top-right or top-left to maximize on half the screen (which I like).

Best way to get W7 to hold size/position of windows?

Hmm... may be the issue is with IE9 not Windows 7. I am only using IE8 in Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate. I don't have this issue. What I observed is... if you have multiple instances of IE running, it will take the last one exited to retain the size/position settings. e.g. If you have 3...

Best way to get W7 to hold size/position of windows?

Not sure what you meant Scataphagos. Windows 7 works pretty well for me. 6 monitors to 10 monitors. 3 computers. All have different TradeStation "desktops" running with different sizes and positions. All are rememeberd between reboots.

Forget about LCD screen. Think LED. They are brighter. Good for displaying charts. With $120 or so for an Acer LED screen 21-inch, 1920x1080 resolution, not worth considering LCD any more.

    Is this computer ok?

Windows 7 itself doesn't use up that much disk space. At least in today's environment it is not a whole lot of disk space. I have a 40GB SSD for the OS drive. It has 2 copies of the Windows folder (one time re-installation of Windows). Windows 7 takes about 12GB or so. If you have some of...

    Dual Screen laptop?

RE: MaxiVista allows you to use a Laptop as a second monitor for your primary computer. I have used MaxiVista before. It has issues of its own when you use it for traveling. It relies on a network connection between the two computers. #1) From what I have experienced, the throughput of...

    Dual Screen laptop?

RE: ASUS MS202N - 20" Wide LCD Monitors I took a look at the specs... 20" wide, resolution only 1600 x 900, weight 10.7 pounds, $150 I passed. No need to go further. These days anything less than 1920x1080 would not be satisfactory. Be it less attractive being heavier and more expensive.

    Dual Screen laptop?

aalluubbaa: Here is my experience. I have a HP dv8t 1100 laptop. It has an 18.5 inch screen and a resolution of 1920x1080. When I travel, I bring at least one external monitor. Lately I have been using: Acer S211HL 21.5" LED monitor, resolution 1920x1080...

    Ping and Latency

I think that the ping time is not all that relevant. The more important number to keep an eye on is the overall throughput, measured in Mbps (mega bits per second). Speedtest gives you that measure. With the DSL, the highest is around 5 Mbps. Sufficient in most cases. Cable can go from 10...

stop & lock a Win7 laptop hard drive

It seems that playing an audiobook is not a good reason to use a laptop in the car. You need to flip up the screen and such. How about some iPod-like devices? I am sure they have made some playback devices that takes audio files from a USB thumb drive or a SD card or sync-up/download to it...

    LED monitors?? which to use

Who would have 10 monitors doing 3D? Seriously! Spending $300 extra for the 3D capability... on all 10 monitors? From my experience I can tell you that if you have 10 monitors side-by-side to set up your trading station, 27-inch each will be too big. You will hate it. If you do 10...

Why does everyone tell me 1 machine + 2 graphics cards can't work?

The two cards do not need to be identical. Identical usually ensures they are compatible. Mixing different makes for the graphics chips (e.g. ATI versus NVidia) will likely have compatibility issues. But within the same make, mixing models in the same series or mixing models in different...

Hey... stop playing ping-pongs. I got dizzy! :) For monitors, I really like my latest find: Acer 22" LED monitor. Light. Bright. Resolution 1920 x 1080. Only $140 when onsale. 23" and 24" seem much too big now if you have multiple monitors side by side. Let alone the 26" and God...
