    Weekly Pin Butterfly Strategy

Thanks for the interesting thread @caroy A couple of thoughts / queries that are intended to be constructive having read most of it over the last few weeks but not analysed your trades in detail: I think you close trades manually, and have mentioned timing working against you occasionally...

How to protect a CC in the money position?

The answer ultimately depends on your view of the stock and your overall objective. If you want to retain the stock, you could roll the position by buying back the ItM Call and selling another, at a higher strike, further out, capturing further gains over time etc but in your opening post, you...

Proof that scalpers can make money

I may have misunderstood your numbers, but: 1. Commission is zero. 2. Sharpe Ratio after 51 trades is exactly 1.00 for both your long and short trades, which is, errm, unusual? 3. Cumulative Profit is 1.46% so less than buy and hold over many 2-month periods.

UK taxation for futures and options trading

Yes to both, but it can be useful to make pension contributions from the LtdCo and it's possible to use certain options trading strategies tax-free within your SIPP.

Best way to bet with options on NVIDIA going down?

You could buy a put spread to gain exposure to your expected scenario with limited risk, @orbit23 A Sep 255/250 would cost you 0.40 today (the Dec 255/250 would cost 0.90 today) If you're right the value would increase towards the value of the spread (5.00, so approx 1100% profit on the Sep...

New Trading System - Input Please.

Depends partially on your intended usage, but on the basis that almost any PC will do everything that almost any trader wants, almost all of the time, it comes down to choosing between: 1. spend as little as possible on the basis that most of it will be obsolete in 3 years, and more of your...

    Trading Options on Breakouts?

Have you considered initially buying a spread around your target price to match the timeframe in which you would expect to achieve it? Obviously model and backtest first, and be prepared to modify/iterate but this would seem like a sensible starting point. Also, as @Genevian Speculator...

    ITM or OTM Calls?

Have a look at my journal on here @ETFswingTrader You can see the results of swing trading using AtM and OtM. Spreads seem to work better, but if using OtM options to gain directional eposure you'll need a strong sense of where the security will move to.
