    Aapl--wtf???

AAPL has been a bad stock to daytrade for a while. MM's always play those stop out games.

    AMEX is crooked..

I think you are being too kind. They run stops in order to cover shorts they initiate, and screw you out of a profit.

    Mrs. Obama's Wal-Mart connection

I don't think Obama stands a chance anyway. It looks like it will be Hillary vs. Rudy.

The Secret Stock Market: Dark Pools

IMO, this is a horrible development for the individual trader. If millions of shares are transacted "off market" then prices could either drop or spike suddenly, or cause an incredible lack of volatility. This is so unfair to the average trader, it's not funny.

    Stunning Outsourcing Prediction On IBM

It is sad. Just wait until this arrangement with Mexico and Canada goes through. There will be another 20 million Mexicans up here overnight. Our standard of living will go through the floor.

    TradingBillion's Successful Futures Trading Adventures

You need to papertrade your system until you are profitable for several weeks. Don't risk one dollar until you are consistently profitable.

How institutions divide their massive trades?

Where is the SEC in all of this? The "market" then is just made up of daytraders and Joe Six-Pack. Anybody who has volume trades does it on pipeline or dark pools. No wonder there is no volatility anymore.

Salomon Smith Barney wipes out lottery winner

I have yet to meet anyone, or even hear of anyone, who was happy with any of the big firms managing their money. But I have heard of many people being wiped out. I knew someone who worked at a big firm, and he told me he was given incentives to push certain stocks and funds, most of which...

    problems with Ameritrade data freeze

If you are serious about trading, you need to get a real broker. I was with Ameritrade years ago. They're okay for swing trading, but my experience was in a fast market, their system often fails. I lost way more money than they ever saved me because I was stuck in a position for hours, cause...

Superior intellect - is that enough?

This about sums it up, but I'll add another big one: resiliency. It takes mental strength to sustain successive losses and keep trading; just shrug it off. That's what I struggle with.

Don't trip, the Tudor Jones guy is not the real one. It's just a screen name.

    Bots in ER2?

The ER2 today was very erratic, almost like someone threw a switch and today I'm trading against computers. Anybody else notice this?

    forum consensus on AMZN

Geez, I forgot all about KTEL. That was brutal :D Okay, well AMZN was high on the list, no doubt. Many funds went under shorting that puppy. It was "overvalued" at 50, and went to 400.

AMZN was the short squeeze of the decade in the 90's....

Cbot Are Crooks!! You Must Read This Story!

A question to those claiming that electronic markets are a sham: there are supposedly no market makers in futures, so just who is swindling you? I trade the CME and it is supposedly FIFO. Who has the ability to cheat me??

Why don't more people trade index futures?

1 million is the front month for the emini, not the pit contract. That is the SP not the ES.

    Economics BS degree

It will be very useful to have a degree in economics from a top 10 school. That way you can intern at Goldman Sachs, etc. If you want to be a independent trader, you don't even need to go to college.

Theoretical results vs Live account results

The difference may be that in a demo account, they are allowing the trades to go through into the market. When you go live, they are trading against your position, so you get lousy fills.
