You won't progress if you don't borrow more to get a good credit score...

I wonder if this guy is still employed and packing all those cards... http://www.smartmoney.com/spending/deals/The-Credit-Card-King-16791/

    IP IMHO a short

Are you scaling in or all in at this point? It appears that there is some significant resistance that IP hasn't hit yet (say $28-$30 level.) IP managed to break out from major resistance point of around $25.50, so that might prove to be a barrier to the downside, at least in the short term...

    Why wont the US collapse?

Not being an economist, I'd be interested to hear of an example system that works or has worked on a large scale.

    TZA nibble ?

I prefer to see the corpse twitch once or twice before I re-issue his social security number. TZA is kind of a limbo contest isn't it: New all-time lows and no visible support of any kind that I can see. If I had the burning itch to go long, I'd probably be buying some puts along with it...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

At least they aspire to a lofty goal and don't mind sharing their dream: "We initiate every one of our stock trades in pursuit of one goal: to make money on every stock trade, whether the market is rising or falling."

    System DayTrading the ES

I'm assuming that you trade only the US market, because aren't margin requirements for the ES around $5K outside normal hours? If so, why not consider using the SSO/SDS combination to approximate the ES contract? This way you can trade real time with a position size that is scaled to your...

Is it that hard to break the matrix?

If you just sidestep both the Red and the Blue pills and go directly to the Neon Orange pill with a Tangerine border and crunchy filling, you'll find your life much improved.

I Gambled on RIMM, Now What?

Well, I will revisit my suggestion to sell a Jan call as a hedge, since hindsight is a wonderful educator: It is 7:38PT and currently the Jan10 70C is trading at $3.05/$3.15. So let's say we sell the 70C: Our 3 scenarios at expiration become: 1) <65 => Lose on long, keep the short...

I Gambled on RIMM, Now What?

Well, I threw that idea of selling the call out off the top of my head, because I thought you'd get $3.30 for an ATM once it opens, but it doesn't look like you get anywhere near those prices on my TOS table, so it probably wasn't a great suggestion after all.

    C a buy?

I know this is a "stocks" thread, but since it's about C, I'm investigating a Mar10, Jun10 or Jan11 4/5 vertical call instead of the outright stock. On the Jan11, you're looking at a risk of about $0.22 with a reward of $0.79 if it's above $5 at expiration. Not sure if I'd go long at these...

I Gambled on RIMM, Now What?

Now you can take some of your gift winnings and "invest" them in lottery tickets. I'd "diversify" my portfolio by spreading them out over various $100k Pick-6 and $100 billion Powerball jackpot types to give an adequat risk-reward ratio. I'd "leg" in to my position by purchasing the tickets at...

I Gambled on RIMM, Now What?

Thank Santa for looking at the wrong week on the calendar and take at least 50% off. Perhaps sell a Jan call with a bid closest to your purchase price to lock in a free trade on a few? If you're brave, you could fade the gap in the AM as well. Expiration tomorrow and holiday next week...

Goldman Sachs Added Harley-Davidson (HOG) to their Conviction Sell List

"Sell" means "Oh-sh#t! We shorted too early!" and hoping for an effect similar to "Fire!" in a crowded theater.

Goldman Sachs Added Harley-Davidson (HOG) to their Conviction Sell List

"Hold" = public should maintain their position so analyst can get the best price while unloading theirs.

    Friday or saturday?

Sorry for the confusion on my previous post. I meant the buyer of the option may have to request that their option be exercised if it is only slightly ITM (<$0.05). As was pointed out, the seller of that same option does not have that choice.

Got into trading after college, 1 year retail, 1 month prop so far...I have issues..

Why not try doubling your stop size and halving your position size? They want you to trade 100 shares? Trade 50 with a 2x stop...Trade 33 with a 3x stop. Your risk is the same but you're less likely to be shaken out by noise. Your stoploss needs to be dynamic to account for changing market...

    Tws Api

Also, your best bet is to get the TWS example code running for starters...the sample code is pretty thorough and has all the bare bones to make sure you are implementing things correctly.

    Tws Api

To make sure you are actually connecting to TWS, call the TWS Connect() routine twice in a row. This will generate an "already connected" error message (might be #202, check the error code list). If you are truly connected to TWS, you should get feedback when you try to request data: either you...

    Trading the Gooniverse...

SHORT TRADE: CEPH Short at $58.90...Stop=$60-ish. Targeting the $54-$56 area. Did this one with shares, since we might not see too much action between now and the new year, so I didn't want to be exposed to time decay. UPDATE Still holding PCU, USO, AUY. Exited AAPL for about +6 (sold at...
