    Tsu bot- Tsunami

Saying you signed up just to post about a commercial product doesn't really add much to your credibility, does it? And when the praise follows the standard stuff I see in my junk email almost every day: "I spent thousands on dozens of systems...", "Trading is now relaxed and stress free..."...

    I'm shorting AAPL and GOOG

While I agree that the longer term charts/technicals, etc all seem to cry "bullish", AAPL can be described as bearish when you look at it on a smaller time frame (made a lower high on the 15 minute and seems to be knocking on the $209-$210 support area, which could send it lower). Also, the...

    X

Yeah, I don't know...STLD and AKS have a lot less cash in the coffers, so maybe it's a durability perception on who can survive a downturn. STLD is only about 65% owned by instutions where as the others are over 80%, so there could still some upside to STLD if their cash situation improves...

    need 22" monitor advice

You're absolutely correct that you can now get two of the 22" monitors for well under $350...My apologies for misquoting prices as I'm sure that might have caused hundreds to overpay on NewEgg had you not quickly set the record straight. They are forever in your vigilant debt, sir!

    X

On the weekly chart, X broke out above resistance (low 50s), and it's been on a tear for the last 6 weeks. Doesn't appear to be a whole lot of resistance until the mid-70s, but it has been on diminishing volume over the last 3 weeks, which is one thing which makes me question how much stamina it...

    I'm shorting AAPL and GOOG

I can just see next week when the big boys get back from their private islands: "Ok, babies, where's AAPL at? Ho, Ho, Ho, look at that recent short interest! Looks like Santa left me a gift behind the couch. Trading desk, buy 10,000 share blocks until I get back from my morning constitutional...

    USO Short?

Not short at the moment, just looking for feedback. On the daily chart, it gapped up into an area of congestion and technically, it's overbought. I'm skittish about any movement this week during the holiday, so this is more of a mental exercise than anything.

    Anybody know Eugene Steele ?

With a resume like that (pilot, lawyer, etc, etc), when the hell did he ever find time to learn how to trade?

    The case against college.

Yep, exactly...I also knew an Australian chap who double majored in mechanical and electrical engineering and he did it in about the same time I did my EE. Bet you guess which courses he didn't have to take. :)

    The case against college.

I think college is a great value if you are entering a technical field (computer science, engineering, medical). If you are going because "Mommy and Daddy" want me to or seeking some worthless degree at a school that cost more than a Humvee every semester, you're wasting your time. The...

    Shorting SNDK

Next resistance point I see is in the $32-$33 area, but the stock has made new 18-month highs and has been pummeling earnings estimates for the last 4 quarters. They also won't need to do much to crush last years EPS (-1.65) when they roll out their earnings in January. I'm guessing we'll see a...

    Anybody know Eugene Steele ?

From that photo, I'd be less worried about his ability to time the market and more worried about his amount of time left in the market.

software to draw ratio of two stocks under IB TWS?

Ninja has a very flexible indicator system, but it sounds like you'll have to roll your own since you've got something pretty specific in mind. Assuming you've got the algorithm for the correlation you want to compute I'm guessing it would be fairly simple to code. It's free unless you...

    BP dividend

Here's the skinny from the horses-mouth itself: http://www.sec.gov/answers/dividen.htm Just remember it can work both ways (i.e: if you're short at the wrong time, you're responsible for paying the dividend).

    I'm shorting AAPL and GOOG

Tough to try and take the strongest of the herd for your shorts? If the market pulls back, both GOOG and AAPL will get dinged, but for my money, I'm still buying on pullbacks intraday until they show me some stronger signs of weakness. For tech shorts, I'm looking at weaker fellas that ran...

    need 22" monitor advice

I second the SamSung. I've got a 20" version, but that's only because I bought it quite a while ago and it's still going strong. Shop around, and you might even be able to go for 24" Your monitor will probably outlast your PC setup (mine always does), so it pays to get a decent one. You can...

Calculating the real value to society of different professions

Hmmm, I wonder where "retail trader" would fall? Probably just below hair stylist, but above those guys who sit on the corner with their headphones wearing big signs that tell me where to get a new mattress....then again, when my mattress is starting to feel lumpy...:)

    Trading the Gooniverse...

LONG: ADD TO PCU Adding a bit to PCU. Weekly is oversold and both weekly and daily are near support levels. Channel breakout on 15-minute chart generated entry. Resistance around the $34 and $36. Stop is nice and wide at recent support levels.

It is 100% certain that oil and coal will surge dramatically in 2013

If we just use a few of the "few" remaining intact atomic bombs, the demand for electricity and coal might fall short of forecasts.
