    The Bull Is Back wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy, I remember October 2002. I was pretty green back then and boy did I argue with the market. I think that was the last time I argued with the market because I got flattened. I remember going short MLMN and some other stock and they both went down 10% after I triggered. I walked away from...

    The Bull Is Back wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm long the YM and holding but here's the thing....you might be right or I might be right but that's not the point. Investing and trading is all about listening to the market, taking a position based on what it is telling you, then managing risk. Today, like a few days last week, the market...

    The Bull Is Back wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The past two late-day rallies have been more short covering than actual buying. Today was NOT a short sqeeze -- it was bonafide, sustained buying. The past couple days have been "buy at any price -- just get me out." Today was planned and orderly buying, which is indicative on institutional...

Trade the news? Why not fade the news?

I make pretty good money fading news, especially economic news but nothing works all the time. If the market takes a huge leap on the news then it's typically not a good idea to fade it, or you have to be extremely patient fading it. You definitely don't want to fade an unemployment report...

    Trading For Living - S&P 500 Market.

With your discipline and patience there is no reason why you can't make A LOT more money. Just a random thought.....you should add an additional setup to your repertoire (I probably butchered that word :D), that also has a high prob of winning, and trade a little more actively, and make more...

    Trading For Living - S&P 500 Market.

Not that it really matters much to your strategy but your exits are typically my entries. I was also long on the two bottoms from earlier in the day.

Tradestation Woes - Must pick a new Platform

Ahhh....I gotcha. I do remember the contract I signed said something about my broker not being responsible for software/hardware/technology, etc.... problems. TS is pretty much in the clear here. To answer your other question though, you may want to look into Amibroker. I know a guy who uses...

Tradestation Woes - Must pick a new Platform

True Surdo. Tradestation won't be refunding a thing. That contract that is as thick as a bible basically frees them from any type of liability but don't you find it odd that his limit exit AND stop didn't get hit even though the price traveled through both?

Tradestation Woes - Must pick a new Platform

Part of the reason people automate is to take themselves out of the equation. There is no reason you need to sit there and watch it. In fact, if you did you'd probably hit the kill button and screw it up. Just messing with ya.

Tradestation Woes - Must pick a new Platform

Let me see if I understand this right.....you have a limit exit and the market traded through it, did not execute, then the market came back and traded through your stop and did not execute that either? Oh and a 2,400 loss on a 23,000 account in the futures market is nothing. I've had MUCH...

    I'm scared.

The biggest mistake investors and traders make is they try to time the market. No one can do it.

    I'm scared.

It sounds as though your longs are not rising and your shorts are not falling if I understand you correctly. If that is the case then I'd say we are closer to a bottom than ever because the strongest stocks are commodity related companies and the weakest are just about everthing else. So your...

What do you think of this guy

This guy is too funny. PCX.....damn is that thing didn't tank after he covered it. I think I would have shot myself.

Stops - Do you trail them?

I use them to lock in profits but never to take a loss. I decide when I will lose money, not the market. I think they are extremely valuable tools to use to lock in profits. There's no better feeling than putting in a stop and kicking back thinking, "Ahh....I got $X locked up."

How to calculate CTA monthly Advisor Fee and monthly percentage performance?

The answer is.....you place strict rules on when your investor can withdraw and deposit funds, typically at months end once the books have been closed. This leaves the investor exposed to additional losses so you put a provision in there that states the investor can withdraw any amount...

BEWARE: The STORM Called the NEXT 2 TRADING DAYS...here is why

increase, think about this for a minute now. You are using words like BEWARE, MASSIVELY, MASSIVE, WATCH OUT! Dude, you are just ooooozing with emotion. Were you bug-eyed when you typed this? Get a grip. The market will either go up or down and when it's finished doing that it will go either...

BEWARE: The STORM Called the NEXT 2 TRADING DAYS...here is why

LOL. Yep, that was a pretty good thread. It puzzles me why people make such predictions. Think about how simple trading can be....if the chart says buy, you buy. It really isn't that hard. Today the chart said buy and hold overnight so the logical thing to do is buy and hold overnight...

Interactive Brokers - I'M MAD AS HELL!

This is what I did. I love IB but they have some assinine business practices. If I croak the funds go directly to our joint bank account and no one will be the wiser -- I hope.

    I hope everyone is long...

LMAO! I'm pretty sure on the next step you have to apologize to someone. Your wife perhaps? LOL The Mods are gonna move this thread to chit-chat if we don't get back to trading pretty soon. Market closed at the HOD. More to come tomorrow, jmho....
