Ammo, I'd be very interested to hear a brief comment on your stop/exit strategy in the rare event one of these scaled-in trades gets out of hand. Thanks. t

And 3rd consecutive (same direction), which is extremely rare. edit: I should say, extremely rare if UNFILLED today. I'm speaking of ES specifically.

    Support and Resistance

If in all cases the situation ends, then why is trend any more worth "believing in" than S and R? I see trends as the by-product of S and R either holding or not holding. It all starts with the S or R though.

Ha ... I was about to post the same thing and ask what you thought. Uvol still looks trendy, but the lengthiness of this consolidation has me questioning whether it is indeed a pullback.

How many of the last nine Mondays have been significantly higher? (hehe, funny)

Hopefully (for him) 12 of his last 9 trades weren't losers.

anyone uses DSL for day trading?

AT&T DSL. Never a problem, far as I can tell.

(oops, I just realized I posted one of the videos twice ... meant for this to be the third one...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiXR9ggRdFI&feature=fvw ... And now back to trading. :)

That was great NoD, thanks. At the risk of getting way off track .... in a similar vein, but maybe more subtle and certainly not as festive, have you seen this series? (take your pick): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89zM9pZzt0U&feature=related...

Trading the ES ....which session to use?

I find ACTUAL price pivots (previous S/R) more useful than hypothetical pre-calculated ones. As for OHLC, I care about A.H./P.M high and low, and then RTH OHLC.

Gold putting in a short term low.

Your GLD chart suggests to me that a significant pullback is due after a 50 pt. swing. Of course I could be dead wrong. I'm long SLV for the long term, btw.

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

Nice. That's similar to the one Lennon used for awhile, is it not? ... or maybe his was a Gretsch, I can't quite remember. I've got a weird thing that's the body of a 335 but without f-holes, called an ES-Artist ('81). Kinda sounds like crap ... lol. But when I was 9 my uncle lent me his '52...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

You're preaching to the choir OT. I just think we as a group come off with more credibility if our arguments stick to the reasons why a TT would affect the entire system, rather than if we try to garner sympathy for our particular circumstance as traders. That's all I was saying. I agree...

NoD you're playing those Keltners like a mint vintage ES-175. ;-)

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Obviously. But some in Washington want a tax to pay for creation of "real jobs", and if it costs a few jobs at the "casino", so be it. Trust me, I'm on your side. I just know that's how DeFazio and his ilk think.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I echo that, great job GreenTradertax. I would like to make one suggestion to everyone though, and that would be for us to downplay the "save traders' jobs" aspect of our argument. Honestly, no one on main street cares about traders, and I think it actually weakens our case when we try to...

    Nesting Fractals

Thanks rainman. I would say I trade mostly S/R and volatility. I look for reversals, not so much looking to join an established trend. I do love channels on a wider scale, so that's why I've become interested in the methods/charts talked about in this thread. I've always had a burning...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

bighog, I've enjoyed your posts and appreciate all you've offered of your experience to NoD and the rest of us here. I've been in this game only a little longer than she, and already it seems you (and her other mentors) have her kicking my ass around the block on many days. I've particularly...

    Nesting Fractals

Nice-looking charts. Is there a single page or document someone could point to where one could find definitions for all of these abbreviations? "FTT" is one I know for sure ... but even that stands for different things, depending on which thread you're in. Thanks.
