I think the high on the $SPX a few days ago was it...

Programs kicking in at 50ema on hourly. What do I win? (please don't say a cookie ... had WAY too many of those lately)

    Technical Analysis, Yo.

Regardless of whether you know how to draw trendlines or not, one instance of failure should not cause you to discard an idea altogether. Even the greatest systems have many trades that fail. This is trading we are talking about here, not ATM machines.

I want to trade in the future...

Agreed. Unless you're looking to be a quant at a hedge fund, in which case you'll need alot of math (statistics) and programming courses, trading is kind of a "street" thing. You'd be better off reading up on betting techniques, getting yourself a practice account, and just start putting in some...

Mafia: You must pay our "protection", US: You must pay our "insurance"

The requirement to buy insurance goes hand in hand with the new requirement of insurers to accept all comers, with or without a pre-existing condition. I think most would agree that prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions is a good thing. So that...

Everybody and their cousin sees the pretty H&S ... now it's a matter of how to shake out the most on the way to its ultimate target.

An Order Cancellation Tax on HFT Would Curtail Deceptive Quoting

It'd be hard to believe there's a chance in hell a tax could be enacted that negatively affects the likes of Goldman and not the average trader.

IB - Study to Show Standard Deviation of the Vix

Bollinger bands are available in IB charts as well, obviously. I believe VIX is one of those indices that IB now requires a small fee for, but I could be wrong.

I tend to agree (bullish), because if we do close inside today it would be a bull flag @ the 38 fib of this week's run.

Might not break much either way. After 3 consecutive > 10pt range days (rare for lately) we may see an inside day, possibly even close near open. Of course an end of day surge/purge is always possible too.

If this uptrend is to continue the imminent hourly bar close is a rare opportunity to get on board below the 50ema.

    Day Trading is a pipedream.

There is alot of truth here. Daytrading can be profitable, but the idea of "consistency" is a matter of interpretation. It's anything but a smooth ride.

    Comcast Internet Usage Meter

That's what I originally was thinking. I'm streaming about 17 charts across 4 monitors, and would think it would be more intensive than just 3 or 4 symbols.
