Long time since ES touched the daily 20ema. Early today it finally did.

I agree. One question I do have though is will Michigan Sentiment drag it down first.

I don't mean to argue but the SPX cash gap left unfilled was a full 3 points, and the Dow's was 30. We can agree to disagree. :)

Wednesday's close was 1214 ... never saw that in RTH yesterday. Yesterday's close was 10.50 ... I believe that is the 2nd gap he's referring to. Good trading.

USD's going nuts, EUR falling out of bed.

On that subject, I was looking at recent unfilled gaps and interestingly last week there were 2 - both to the upside. Guess what days they were ...

8 Reasons to Not Be a Daytrader

While I do agree with alot of what Altucher says about daytrading, I have to take exception to 2 of the items on his list: Under "Nothing Productive" he likens daytrading to pick-pocketing. If these two activities are to be lumped together, then long-term investing should equate to trying to...

    Chicagoans: help please...

Wrigleyville might be a little "college"-ey for you, I'm not sure. I'd probably have to say stay close to downtown for the women, but head up north if you want to hear decent rock music.

    Chicagoans: help please...

The Division and State area has a few places where many of the standard mating rituals transpire. Unfortunately the rock music you'll find in most clubs that play rock in Chicago is usually lame '80's music, for some reason. But there is another area with lots of bars - up on North Clark St...

A 20yr old futures trader needs help with trade management

I don't mean to be harsh but I think the bottom line is you have very little chance of making enough to live on starting with a mere $5k account, period. Think about who you are doing battle with ... Goldman, Citi, MS ... all ridiculously well capitalized and able to eat your 1 lots as a tasty...

A 20yr old futures trader needs help with trade management

If you have a positive edge with the system at 1.5 to .5 R:R then you should probably keep doing just that and build your account slowly until you can add 1 contract without giving back all your profits should you go through twice the amount of drawdowns experienced up to that point (or in the...

How long have you been using a R/R of almost 5 to 1 (risk 5 to make 1), and how profitable has that been for you? .. just curious.

    Are you an a**hole?

"Some researchers and people with Asperger's have advocated a shift in attitudes toward the view that it is a difference, rather than a disability that must be treated or cured.[8]" Where the line between disability and behavioral flaw is blurred I guess any definition would be difficult to...

    Are you an a**hole?

Lazy/sloppy grammar or spelling is a**hole behavior imho. It usually makes things harder to read, and is therefore inconsiderate toward the reader(s). If you're texting or typing from a handheld device that's maybe another story. But if you're on an actual computer and you can't be bothered to...

    Are you an a**hole?

Being an asshole basically means lacking sensitivity, consideration, and respect for others. We all have those traits from time to time, but unfortunately it's not hard to find people who exhibit them almost all the time. Those are the ones I consider true a**holes, and alot of (financially)...

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

Today the 1174 bounce was the 50% retracement of the 1156-1193 (round) move on the daily/hourly, and in RTH the 78.25 pivot was today's range 50% mark. These 50% levels have been reliable springboards all throughout this bull run. Until that pattern changes, I think we move higher.

    Chicagoans: help please...

Avoid Uptown if you can. You need a bike, or a scooter, or a motorcycle. If u had a bike you could just ride right up along the lakefront to get to your park. It's a beautiful ride... of course, might not work so well in January, but then will u be skating in January?

Because saying "if A happens then there's a high probability B will happen" is not the same as saying "I think A will probably happen". Some people are more comfortable with high probability, whatever that means to them. Anyway, to each (trader) his own.
