Also, I guess when we have RTH ranges of 3.00 (like yesterday) R5 becomes the new R10.

    HuggieBear's Thread of Public Shame

This sounds like a wise approach. I especially like the part about waiting for 4 consecutive losses before starting up the new system again, as this is a tactic I often use (only trade after X number of failed signals) and it seems to work well. Easier on the psyche if nothing else. Good luck...

    Transaction tax in germany

Thanks for the info zdreg. Since everyone's been saying volume would flee to Asian markets I figured they were a safe alternative, but I guess that's not the case.

Trading Secrets For Sales. 200% returns possible.

You show an 11-day win streak from back in August ... that was a nice little run - congratulations. How about showing the next 11 days? ... or what about a couple of 11-day periods within the past 2 months? Why did you start from so far back ... has the strategy not been working lately?

    Transaction tax in germany

Thanks. So IF such a tax, the way it's currently being framed, were ever passed in the U.S., theoretically a U.S. trader could trade through a broker that offers access to the HK exchange (for example) and not pay a TT. (-?) Then I'm not sure what the big deal is ... just learn a new...

    Transaction tax in germany

Dumb question: ... would the tax apply to the location of the exchange, the account, or the account holder? What I'm getting at is, should this tax nightmare spread to and take effect in the U.S., will there be any workarounds at all for U.S.-based traders, i.e. - open an account through IB...

    Peterffey Goes to Washington

I found Peterfly's concern that multiple brokerages could fail on any given day the way things currently stand a bit disconcerting.

Are stops a complete joke ?

I guess we need to define "stop" then. Do you never take a loss? Even if you don't have a stop in the market when you first enter a trade, you must surely have an uncle point that is some $ amount or % of your account, unless you're using the "margin call stop" (...the ultimate stop that...

Are stops a complete joke ?

I agree, or put more simply, why not just place your initial entry wherever you would've in the past put your stop? You may miss a few entries, but you'll make sure you get in at true bargain prices when you do get in, and should be less likely to get stopped as well.

I agree - well done, and my only point in my prior post was you may be ok with a sudden 10% market drop with just one car, but it's those pesky add-ons that can kill us when we're not prepared for all "what-ifs". :)

You apparently weren't trading in 2008 (?) ... or on May 6th of this year? (the next -10% drop in one day may not come back so quickly next time). You've been trading a 'method' that works well for the current market so I'm not trying to burst your bubble, just trying to caution you. The...
