jpm trade desk lost money a total of 8 days in 2010

The house always wins in the end. But every now and then they gotta let Aunt Bea hit the jackpot in the slots so she keeps coming back.

IRS Would Add 5,000 Employees Under Obama's Budget Proposal

Actually to guarantee a win win they should hire as many new IRS employees as they want ... as long as they work from home and their compensation is 100% commission-based.

IRS Would Add 5,000 Employees Under Obama's Budget Proposal

Insane. Stop looking for ways to spend more of our money. Or spend it wisely on a one-time tax code overhaul/simplification so you can cut the IRS in half. In Rahm Emanuel's campaign ads for Chicago mayor, whether you believe them or not, he says "we need to make it clear that city government...

Could very well turn out to be one of those wiggle around, close unched days today, ahead of tomorrow's Retail Sales. Last month the day before R.S. ES closed down 1 pt from the open.

Harvard educated...not really the sharpest tools in the shed.

Not only that, how many of you (over 35's) knew the price of an ounce of silver when you were in college? Generally speaking, the financial markets, commodities, etc., are for investing in once either some wealth has been accumulated or once a person has joined the work force and is looking...

    My turn now

Shorting a breakout on light volume after the market has doubled in record time (S&P 666 low X 2, up 100% in less than 2 years) is not the craziest thing a person could do. Having said that, personally I'd prefer a little more of an overshoot (50 pts?), a slightly lower VIX (sub 15), or some...

    Games while waiting for setups

Exactly. I watch and trade basically 5 different futures markets. No I don't catch every setup in each one, but I prefer to wait for the most ideal setups to trade. So having a handful of markets to watch gives me ample opportunity to find ideal setups, in addition to keeping me plenty busy when...

We're almost at 1332, a double off the 666 bottom. 100% in less than 2 years ... pretty incredible. I could see a turn anywhere from 1330-1360, but with VIX now getting close to 15 again and TRANS weakening a bit, you gotta wonder when this puppy's gonna at least stop to pee.

    Buying the Right Pullback

Nice charts EK, thanks for posting. (Possible small correction on chart #2 (?) - I think you may have meant "HL"s instead of "HH"s on that triple bottom and "HH4".) Also, perhaps it's just a matter of semantics, but I would disagree with the statement "Predicting the next move is for...

New at trading: starting with Stocks, options, futures?

By all means, since you are just starting out, I would recommend you do NOT put a single dime at risk until you've: 1) researched profitable trading methods 2) formed a strategy that you can write down in a sentence or 2 3) traded that strategy on a demo account profitably for at least a...

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

I consider myself only lightly seasoned (a bit salty at times), but as far as trading the news ... I have levels I look to trade, which may hit right away or may hit never. Most times I'll wait at least 1 bar, but in general it's about the levels, not really the time.

    what's YOUR personal CPI?

That is the scary one. Blue Cross has an automatic 15% hike every year, with additional 15% raises on top of that for certain age milestones. I had one this year, so my health insurance went up 45% in 2 years. How many people's income goes up 15%/year indefinitely??

A couple of thoughts regarding Interactive Brokers

IB overall is a great outfit. Decent commissions, full range of products, and I even think customer service isn't as bad as alot of people say. No complaints about execution either (filled me at low tick today on YM, and this is not uncommon ... see attachment). But I do agree with Bob and...
