i've never seen such a scary -perfect- looking ascent. And oddly enough, I don't know if I'd have the guts to buy into it... I like volatility I can see. A stock like this will just one night gap down and everyone will be SOL. ... All for no apparent reason.

check out the groves in carmel valley -- relatively cheap, nice aesthetic, great location .. you can rent a decent 2-3 bed for 1500-2000/mo. go to craigslist and do it there. you'll find something...

TRIN reading was unusually high this morning. some say this could have been the indicator of your so called earthquake.

Need help with San Diego area

I live in rancho penasquitos -- in north county square between Poway and Del Mar, and find it a nice safe place to live. Used to have a condo in Carmel Valley as well. Its really not that far from downtown - just take the 15 to 163 south and you're there in 20 minutes. Not as hot as Poway...

    Airline stocks

thats not so unrealistic. these guys have hundreds of millions to throw around short selling stocks. perhaps that is what drives this 'terrorism' cycle. I bet these guys didn't expect oil to crash down like that though. I wouldn't touch oil right now -- especially shorting it --- we're...

Conspiracy theory proven August 8, 2006. Class actions?

seriously the suggestion of conspiracy theory is silly. and even if you lose on this trade (as I did), its an acceptable risk to take for a possibly great quick return. thats what stops and system are for. think of if the market took a parabolic ascent up instead, unhindered. there...

scriabin's ES, NQ, QG, and misc position/scalp journal

word on the street is natural gas' straight ride up (to 7.94) and down may have been attributed to Mother Rock hedge fund finally covering its failed short position. Thats a big short position.

thanks. Today I posted this which details my index trading: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74622 This netted about $300 positive. a. Sold out of cisco in early morning - that cancelled out my loss on yesterday's index fiasco. b. had a fun time with natural...

reversal days -- how long did it take you to spot the trend?

This is for NQ. How long until you were pretty sure of the day's trend? For me, its D !! :) TRICKY DAYS!! At the start of the day, I thought this was definitely an up trending day. The easiest part was by far the end of the day Quick summary: Bought A and B, sold C. Short D...

    How low do we go??

exactly why I believe there will be a choice: vain attempt to save housing at the expense of the dollar, or stronger dollar inflation fighting policy at the expense of the economy (global equities market). It looks like their choice will be #1. Buy euros. (i'm not so high on the yen just...

Conspiracy theory proven August 8, 2006. Class actions?

trading the news after its released is not gambling any more than almost any other trading technique. Trading before its released, well, I agree thats quite a bit riskier. I didn't have the gall to make a position ahead of the fed announcement -- I waited until after, then got whacked...

    How low do we go??

You know, it all really depends where the fed's priorities are. If its support the housing market (and transitively the entire economy so dependent on it), then Bill Gross of Pimpco :) is right, and we're in the beginning of a bull for bonds. If its fighting inflation, and peak oil is...

nice gap up today. everything is in the blue --- this may be the trending day I'm looking for. again, tired of the choppiness. after seeing japan's performance last night, i bought 1 NQ ... perhaps the rally day we are looking for.

    dollar strengthening against Euro?!?!?

now its back to where it started. in fact, since I averaged in another 50k at $1.2795, I decided to sell that leg now just in case for $1.2884. Thank you Japan for the strong manufacturing growth.
