I think a lot of people forget what the definition of recession really is. I think another factor is that many people don't trust the US government's data. And many bears or dooms-dayers just try to paint a horrible picture because that is what they do.

If you read Mvic's entire post, it is pretty clear that he had plenty of capital to trade with. Is it not possible that he started with 1 lots while he learned/practiced and then started increasing size?

Quit reading ET and watching/reading the news and you'll feel much better:D When I first found ET, I found myself getting very paranoid, myself. There are so many dooms day posts and ultra-bearish predictions. That is the most realistic way to deal with your paranoia, IMO.

That was kind of the point of my first post. There was a bit of sarcasim in that post. Obviously you can't put much stock into demo accounts, but I am using it to improve my trading stategy.

If you can profit consistently from position trading, then just go with what works and position trade. Quite frankly, why work for a prop, if you can trade futures profitably? Either way, don't stress it too much because it sounds like you have several years to continue practicing before...

I think they realize this, but it is all about what they can get for themselves, now, not what it will do to US auto manufacturing in the future. It's too bad. And to Daal's point, it's all about greed. In the end though, the free market will fix it.

No I get it, but given the choice between living a crappy standard of living and having little or no inflation, and having some (even moderate) inflation and having great access to health care, technology, housing, energy, vacations, education.................I'm pretty happy with where things...

1940 is good to :) My point is that regardless of the inflation rates or consequences of inflation, there is no denying that our standard of living has increased quite nicely along with that inflation.

I guess a good question to ask is whether you would rather be born in 1800, 1913 or 2007? I chose 2007. Something is working.
