Pure Tick - Last Day for Trading Alerts

I agree. When it comes to opm, audited performance numbers are a start.

    vix spike = temp bottom

I wonder how many the fed is going to have to bail out, as I'm sure that will be the case... I wouldn't call a bottom right now if I had to.

Need advice on trading computer, and monitors

I thought tradingcomputers was overpriced. Just wanted to go with good hardware, as I do this for a living, and am not scared to pay for good equipment and service. Tell me more. What do you think the above set up would cost running six monitors? I don't know if I need six 28" monitors, but...

Google Finance follows Yahoo: real time datafeed

Yahoo finance does NOT provide REAL TIME quotes. If a person places market orders based on yahoo finance... No need to even go there. I manage OPM, and do not use yahoo finance for anything other than occasional "news." You get what you pay for...

Need advice on trading computer, and monitors

I'm trying to set up an actual system where I can be in one place and do what I need to do. I manage opm, as well as daytrade. (Well, attempt to daytrade:eek: ...) I need to have a computer and monitors that will allow me to: * Watch over a portfolio of about 25 equities, and options...

BLACKBERRY or 3G IPHONE if u want to trade from a cell phone??

I'd like to have one too! How much you think they'll be? I hope it comes with some kind of hard (but thin) case or something as I may drop it like I have my blackberry. Hope it's durable, and has clear reception without all the bells it has causing calls to be dropped.

    Buy and Mold

What calculations are you using to come to this number on the S&P? Here's something: The DJIA: Dec 72 1,033.22 Dec 82 1,018.00 The SPX Dec 72 118.05 Dec 82 138.69 A FLAT ten year span. People made money in equities though. Conversely, if they bought and held the above two...

Man, Trading Is Depressing Now; No Energy

That's great advice! I might print this post, and tape it to my monitors.:)

Man, Trading Is Depressing Now; No Energy

You got it! However, training with weights, and doing cardio of different types (1.5 mile Ocean swim, a 5 mile run, etc.,), is my stress buster. Just have to get squared away, and do it. I'm a Combat Veteran, and know a little about the management of stress. I just forget now and...

Man, Trading Is Depressing Now; No Energy

I've noticed a personality/mood change when I began managing opm. Years ago, I would be up doing cardio at 0600, and instead of going out for lunch, going to the gym for 45 minutes of weights (and shower!), then do my compound movements with weights at 2100. All the while dieting, weighing and...

    What happened? (ES trade)

Monday Long 2 ES at 1246.50 at 14:17 Sold 2 ES at 1259.25 at 16:01 I would venture to guess that today was certainly a good day to be trading the ES. You guys that got short at the open probably picked up ten points if you held the position, and adjusted your stops. :)

    What happened? (ES trade)

I agree 100% That's the main reason why I posted this thread. In two days of trading the platform, I believe day one I made about $1,250, then day two $5,000. It was one of those too good to be true things to happen, so I wanted to get other opinions on this. From the replies, it...

    What happened? (ES trade)

The answer is oddly, no. I don't know any brokers, or other RIA's who know any successful daytraders. I guess that's because my "realm of contacts" if you will, are mostly managing retirement assets, which is totally different. I've spoken to several CFA's, guys at the clearing firm, people...

    What happened? (ES trade)

I've taken a look at ninjatrader. It looks like it will do what I need. Instead of papertrading right now, I should probably do some more research, backtesting, then starting with 1 contract, and see how that goes. As a RIA I don't recommend anyone daytrade with assets they cannot afford...

    What happened? (ES trade)

 Please read the thread. I addressed this. I am trading my own account. And yes, there is absolutely a law (numerous) against a broker or advisor using their clients own money to trade with for personal gain. Not only would that be nuts to do, the person doing it would belong in jail...
