Probably so. And that's why one waits. Bottoms do not become bottoms until after the fact. After bottom seems to be in, then buy, on stop. Put stop somewhat below bottom, in case you are wrong.

It is obvious now which way it went. But note the short green bars on the rally (in contrast to the big red bars on the way down). That indicates a weak pullback, not an impending breakout to the upside. Wide-range bars tend to indicate which way the market is going to go. Of course...

I don't trade every day. Not all daytraders do. Some days even in NQ lack direction and simply chop, chop, chop. On those days, I don't trade. NQ TENDS to have cleaner trends, but not always.

Scalping is a gruelling way to daytrade. It is one thing to look at a chart to see where one COULD have made money buying support and selling resistance, or buying breakouts to new highs and selling breakouts to new lows. It is much more difficult doing it real-time. Spread and commissions...

What is really in question is the ability to overcome serotonin problems by taking serotonin supplements. I have seen studies that show that St. John's Wort and 5-HTP are slightly more effective than a placebo, but their effects have been highly exaggerated. I myself would not buy them...
