I want to be considerate to people who have a harder time seeing font size. But I also think the quotes are generally just a mental reminder of what we've already read. That anyone who is reading through a thread has already read the post being quoted, and doesn't usually waste their time...

Interactive Brokers has $2,000 minimum to open account. You will need $2,000 maintenance for margin account trading, but if you don't use margin you could open a cash account and not need a maintenance minimum. You'll get more complete answers in the Direct-Access Brokers topic.

We can endure this. But we can also have an effect if we make ourselves heard. Which has never been easier than in this age of e-mail and internet. And if we don't raise our voices, they will keep hacking us down lower and lower with new regulations.

May be time to look for another broker, at least for back-up. What advantages does Watley offer?

The resignation of Harvey Pitt as SEC Chairman may make this the perfect time to get moving on repealing the daytrading regulations. Certainly NASD's recent application of these rules to stock options, which the SEC did not authorize by the original regulations, makes now a time to let them...

Focusing on what I can do in the present, I got my account ready for SingleStockFutures trading, and opened a new cash-only account for trading options from (which should allow "daytrading" options). Once I had done that, and thinking about how many more traders must feel exactly the same...

It might also be helpful if the defaults for the quote feature were set for a smaller size font, like this. Please note also that I edited the text being quoted, so the whole post didn't have to be reprinted. Quoting only the parts of the message that are relevent to your own added comments...

I think people have gotten too much in the habit of doing the quote thing when replying to a message on here. You read through someone's page long message, and then right below it you have the same page long message written in bold, just so another person can add a one sentence remark like...

I think Aphie has a certain right to make the remarks in this thread that he has, considering that it was started and titled in mockery of him. You would defend yourself too if you saw a thread that had been made to ridicule you.
