Yes he needs to adapt and develop new trading strategies that allow him to hold overnight. And he needs to learn to trade without the benefit of being able to place stop-losses. While he's doing that he has the right to be pissed off about it. You would be too.

PDT rules may have destroyed the profitability of what would have otherwise been perfectly good trades. When you find yourself subjected to these limitations you too will complain

The advantage of paper trading is you should be able to do it without getting emotionally wrapped up by what happens to it. View it dispassionately, it isn't real money. Try more than one portfolio, use different and even opposite strategies in each. I don't think QQQ is going to go back...

Your story is considered whining. You are told to stop whining and borrow money from friends so that you will have $25,000 so you can daytrade. This is how you are encouraged to engage in risky behavior by a rule that claims to be trying to protect you from exposure to risk.
