Congrats Fed! Maybe CPI Will Heal Itself: Inflation @ 9.6% Annualized

WHY? Just trying to inflate his way out of short term disaster without raising interest rates. Only three months to go and then it is all someone else's nightmare. The resulting consumer recession will lag by two or three months at least so in effect he is there already. Well done B...

Will the dollar recover and how soon?

By "spike" I am referring to the final thrust that is typical of hedgies unwinding and reversing. The aussie is a good example. Will we see the upper 90s again or is it all over and the slide is under way. jjf

Will the dollar recover and how soon?

The US banks will eventually reload and this might happen sooner rather than later, then the Fed will begin lifting rates. (However I dont expect mortgages to stabilize until 2011/12) If US has been successful in exporting it's financial misery then the global commodity boom is over, at...

Inflation in U.S. Highest Since 1981; Fed Not Expected to Raise Rates

All I know is that if the Gov/Fed want to reduce inflation figures quickly they need to multiply last months inflation number by say 0.66% and then claim that inflation has been capped and under control. Given that they are all living at the tax payers expense, from their point of view...

Inflation in U.S. Highest Since 1981; Fed Not Expected to Raise Rates

Unless the spending figure is inflation adjusted, then consumer spending shrunk a lot more than - 0.2% (0.6 minus 0.8) because the inflation number is synthetic and all less embracing, whereas spending is spending. Or have I got it all wrong.

The economic impact of the current Exodus from the United States.

libertad, I am somewhat surprised to read from a man of your calibre the apparent confusion between greed and common sense. Both are as much a sign of the times as they are a reflection of the individual and sadly, very sadly we live in greedy times. There are times when they merge and...

Living & trading out of the DR

Thanks Surdo, I have the DR1 site, but I am also interested in your opinion. What do you consider the nicest places to stay and live on the north shore. We thought we would go and rent for a few months to get a feel for the place and it struck us that the north shore would be a good...
