The high in EUR/USD on Friday July 5th, shortly before 5 pm EST, was around 1.2360.

    How spot dealers make $

No. Your minimum trade size as a retail online forex trader -- a lot or a mini-lot -- is 1-2 orders of magnitude less than the interbank dealers' minimum trade size on EBS and Reuters, the two primary forex networks. A direct access online FX shop could not hedge in the way you describe...

Anyone know how to save streaming video?

Well, in many cases, website admins don't necessarily want their valuable (or not) multi-media content downloaded and make it difficult for you. Disable right-click menu... disquise true file names and directory structure... force you to use their proprietary player... employ uncommon or tricky...

    Great Book - Cheesy Title

ForeX [sic] Trading for Maximum Profit: The Best Kept Secret Off Wall Street by Raghee Horner Cheesy title, yes... but, IMO, one of at most 2 or 3 worthwhile books on forex, within a dumping ground of mediocrity or, worse, outright scams, especially from top, respected publishers. Anyone...

    IB - smaller increments

I can't imagine that (pipettes) happening at IB, ever. The real issue with IB forex is not spreads -- which are second to none, retail -- but routine slippage of 1, 2, 3 and more pips on stop orders in ordinary, not fast, market conditions.

    Wow---eur/usd

You may want to check out ElectricSavant's Cash & Carry journal. The periodically updated spreadsheet there, interestcow.xls, ranks all the currency pairs offered by Oanda, by their carry / interest rate differential.

    Ib Tws Down

Regrettably, not an option for FA (Financial Advisor) clients. Must be on the US server.

    I like Oanda but...

Do you mean "Oanda's price" or "price as displayed elsewhere -- interbank feed, other forex platforms"? If you mean "Oanda's price", I don't think even the most shady bucketshops, err, market makers, would be able to get away with triggering a stop when their own price didn't somehow manage...

    What exactly does ignore do?

No, you'll still see the thread (once it has at least one reply, I believe), but without any of the ignoree's posts. Yes, even without the opening post itself. The "ignore" function only hides individual posts, not threads. Also, feel free to experiment with "ignore" to your heart's...

Cost of one pips in US Dollars?

This will get the job done easily: http://www.oanda.com/products/fxmath/profit.shtml Enter 100,000 under "Units" for 1 lot or 10,000 for 1 mini-lot.

    Any good brokers with API?

Actually, ButtonTrader can be a lot less than $100 a month, depending on the license type you choose. As little as $22 a month, or $55 for 3 months, for Lite. (I said, Bud Light.) See http://www.buttontrader.com/index.asp? and click on "License and Fees" for details. I use BT Standard...

Trading with IB's Ideal. (not ideal pro!)

Wonder if your GBP/USD IDEAL quote is a typo. 3 pips is the typical IDEALPro cable spread. It's 10 pips on IDEAL right now (13:27 EDT), 1.7453-63 up to 150,000.

    Opening account at CoesFX..any input

Their ECN-like business model is the way direct access forex trading should be. The published commissions are on the high side, compared to their direct competitors. However, if you do certain volume, at least nine figures a month, the commissions are fully negotiable.

Scalping 1 penny, Recording, and Speed.

Camtasia Studio is supposed to be one of the best programs for real-time screen recording, full slate of playback options, etc. As I recall, NihabaAshi is using that. It offers a free trial. http://www.techsmith.com/products/studio/default.asp

Which broker's advisor account can do this?

You will not find any US broker offering what you have in mind, as described in your original post. Simply put, it is unethical and illegal. You can't commingle separate clients' funds in that way unless you are, say, a CPO running a properly set up pool. And you certainly can't have one...

Spot forex in IB IRA acct?

Pjbreen, That would be nice, wouldn't it, but, unfortunately, the answer is "no". I've already gone through that process. You will not be able to even add any spot forex pairs to your (single-account) TWS, because the IRA trading permissions don't allow spot forex. For one thing, you...

    Strictly forex strategy

"The 90's" sounds rather vague, and I am not even European. If we're talking history of the euro, it came into being on Jan. 1, 1999, under the Treaty of Maastricht (1992), which had created the EU (European Union). 1999-2001 was a transitional stage from the national currencies to the euro...

    Pure agent against market maker

Steve, Sorry, but I would not characterize something like this as usable "market depth": This was taken just a couple of minutes ago. What's more disturbing, and contrary to your earlier remark, this does show at least some customers' orders and stops, even though they are placed far...

    IB new forex spreads

To add to the good info provided by pipscooper: TWS auto logoff time (Configure - Misc) can be set for any time of your choice. As far as I know, there is nothing special about midnight or thereabouts. Mine is set for 5:07 pm EST. Why? - it's the optimal time for me, as some time between...
