    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

as a matter of fact, the dmi crossover is impossible to trade on it's own because it will whipsaw you to death. But it has never paid me to go against it, so that is why I use it. Now I see, waiting for a breakout misses many good crossover trades, but almost EVERY SINGLE TIME the bad whipsaw...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. Fairly awesome system when you get a good breakout is use the 50ema as a stop. Got a friend who when he was young, went short NQ on a breakout and the 50ema didn't stop him out till he was an old man. Fortunately I am young and in the prime of my life, cause...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

Been in the lab all weekend thanks to you breakout. If I see one more magenta line! I figured out they don't call them donchian channels anymore. N days or something like that. So far, I have n period 30 and dmi 13. Almost all breakouts are accompanied by crossovers. But the ones that aren't...

Futures , Taxes, and Mark to Market

I must say, this has been one of the most depressing threads ever started on this site. The IRS has no concept of trading capital. Try to explain to them that just because I had a good quarter, I may need some of that for my next drawdown. I still can't get a straight answer on this. I have...

Futures broker to use alongside Realtick

Here's the point I'm trying to make. Lets say you have lousy quotes, very slow, everybody in the world has faster quotes, and your broker has very slow executiion, the slowest in the business. If you are getting filled at the price on your screen, what difference does it make?

Futures broker to use alongside Realtick

Let me make this perfectly clear. If the price on your screen says 75 offered 50 bid, and you put in a market order to buy and you don't get filled at 75 then you need to stop trading and figure out where the problem is because something is wrong.

Futures broker to use alongside Realtick

lets say you're long, and you think it is about time to get out. Maybe its offered at .75 and the offers look strong and steady with a size of 64. But the bids at .50 look weak, only 34 and dropping fast. You still have time to think, push the button, get in line and get filled at 50. You...

Futures broker to use alongside Realtick

yeah, terra nova has some kind of deal with Real tick. I've never used either so can't reccomend. As far as direct access goes, you are going to get filled at the screen price. So when you hit the button on your computer, it goes to your broker and your broker sends it to the exchange...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

ok, then let me ask you this, do you have a minimum breakout? I've tried it using 21 and 11 and 55 periods. Maybe I just hit bad days. I was using a 1 tick breakout, and it is uncanny how many times the old sr was taken out by 1 tick and then right back to the midrange. I know this is where...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

yeah nice chart. Better start a new thread for this one. I've stared and stared at those channels and never figured out how you do it. I've done searches on donchian and looked everywhere. I guess it is so simple they figure you don't need to read about it. How long do you have to wait for...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

nah, I trade from home, but I'm trying to eek out a few more livings today. I don't know anything about rsi. It's the %bb that I'm impressed with. Another good divergence at 12:23 et on the 1 min. Everythings got you short, but the rising %bb tells you if you want to stay with it you are...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

right breakout, the declining %bb is a warning for the bulls, but the rsi needs to go into overbought territory and then come back down. The chart is deceptive cause we are looking at that great bull move, and all we are going to get with this crazy system is a move from the upper to lower...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

Why Breakout, I'm surprised you would ask such an elementary question. That is when you start thinking about taking your profit! But seriously, the tag on the long side that runs up the band is one of the best moves. That's the one I'm trying to nail. If the tag brings the rsi up above 70...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

caza, I don't know anything about rsi. I need to ask more questions. But it was %bb that showed the most interesting divergence. For instance, you can watch prices climb right up the bands on the chart, but %bb shows a steady downtrend. The best signal so far was higher price but lower peak...

    The Bollinger Bandit Strikes Again

I often feel as though I am being led through this trading adventure, because so much of my good fortune is the result of malfunction, miscalculation and mistake. Like today. Couldn't get my adx, which has been my bread and butter indicator working. So I put up %bb. %bb displays all the chart...

    Bad Advice

If I give myself bad advice, and I act on that bad advice, do I still have to accept responsibility for my own actions, or can I just blame myself?

how can something like this be expressed?

ooh Banjo! If I ever get my hands on you! I'm gonna....What's the idea of giving away my trade secrets? I had to read several books and visit many websites to come up with my proprietary no one can use them but me system. Yep Gordan, want to express it? Just look at BB. That's exactly what it...

    90% Winners with Bassakwards

Puffy, If you try to pick a bottom and buy and it moves against you it hurts. But, if you jump on a trend and it moves against you, not only does it hurt, but you feel like a complete fool. I truly believe that the reason most traders don't achieve their goal is not because they can't stand...

    Interesting Site...

Another example of what you just might find over there. Empirical tests carried out on various chart formations by Professor Earl Davis of Purdue University were profitable between 70 and 90 per cent of the time in bull markets and between 80 and 90 per cent in bear markets. Average gains (on...
