Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month

This type of situation is mostly accounted for in the stats. There are reports of average work week in hours and average hourly earnings. The bigger issue is people who want work but cannot find it.

Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month

My only argument against the LFPR is that it is easy to manipulate and doesn't factor in a changing workforce demographic. To me, the retirement age should be 60. We keep arbitrarily changing it for political reasons. So we have a rapidly retiring baby boomer population, many of whom aren't...

Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month

The U6 is reflective of all people who want a job but don't have one. That is the only number anyone really cares about, but the number is not reported. It is completely bogus ask someone if they are still looking for a job, they tell the BLS they've given up after a year, and then the BLS...

Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month

IMO, the U6 is the best to publish as a general employment guideline. There are good reasons not to use the LFPR. The U3 is complete garbage and I can't make a single reasonable argument in favor of using it as a headline number.

Gallup state numbers predict huge Obama loss

Not criticizing you, but rather Fox News. These days they are trying to make a story out of anything they can. The Trump thing is a complete non-issue in my opinion.

Gallup state numbers predict huge Obama loss

The wild card are all the people who might or might not decide to start looking for a job as things improve. The general consensus is that the a jump in the economy will actually result in a short term increase in the unemployment stat.

Gallup state numbers predict huge Obama loss

Complete non-issue in the long run. Trump's endorsement will hardly even be mentioned after this week. Except for by Trump himself.

Gallup state numbers predict huge Obama loss

First off, nobody is gonna turn down a billionaire donor. I don't care who it is. I would bet that it was Trumps decision to do it now, not the Romney staff. Second, it turned out to be a five minute event with almost no speech or photo op. That is as down played and small as you can get...

The myth that China owns The US

Actually, that is one of the main points that I criticize Romney on. He is smart enough to know that China only owns a small fraction of our debt, and that is why he is taking such a hard line stance on forcing China into compliance. But then at the same time he makes statements like,"My...

Gallup state numbers predict huge Obama loss

Endorsements from private citizens are completely overblown. The are pretty inconsequential. The only endorsements that ever make a difference are key political endorsements from guys like Marco Rubio, Ron Paul, Chris Christie, Hillary Clinton, etc who have loyal supporters that will follow...

Gallup state numbers predict huge Obama loss

I'm wondering where they are getting the info. IMO, pure speculation. He only endorsed yesterday, so when would the polls have been conducted? All polls posted today have Romney gaining, not losing. I don't think the endorsement changes things at all, except that he might write a check to...

Girl Scouts Aren't Just Selling Cookies Anymore

Actually, I've read several genetic studies that argue how a gay gene might be self-propagating. There are some pretty interesting theories on it.

Chris Matthews continues to prove he is delusional.

This is Trump's m.o. 1) Decide that you must endorse a candidate while an endorsement would still make news. This means that waiting until after super Tuesday is too risky. As soon as it looks clear who the nominee will be, you've got to act. 2) Tell the media that you'll be making a...

Chris Matthews continues to prove he is delusional.

I think Trump is endorsing Romney actually.. When I first heard that Trump was set to endorse newt, I laughed and said that I thought Trump himself leaked that to get the press buzzing. No way he endorses Newt over Mitt. Trump doesn't endorse a perceived loser and even after Mitt slapped...

Just heard about a supposed alliance on MSNBC. Ron Paul new Fed Chairman?

You forgot the outlook section. "Federal Reserve Bank seen dissolving by June 2013."

Just heard about a supposed alliance on MSNBC. Ron Paul new Fed Chairman?

You gotta admit, you'd be begging for cameras in the room during that first policy meeting where the other bank governors argued their case and then got torn to pieces.

Just heard about a supposed alliance on MSNBC. Ron Paul new Fed Chairman?

I've been thinking for some time now that Paul is Mitt's buddy. Paul has gone after just about everyone except Romney during debates. So I've been wondering for a while if Paul might be looking for a cabinet spot. I don't see Mitt selecting Paul for Fed chairman. I think that Mitt believes...

Chris Matthews continues to prove he is delusional.

Paul will only have influence at the convention if he really steps up his game AND if Newt does well. Paul will probably only get about 200 delegates and will only influence things if Gingrich gets close to Romney and needs an extra couple hundred delegates. The suit against FL is a lost...

Chris Matthews continues to prove he is delusional.

I agree that everyone is giving him more respect. I disagree about O'Reilly. IMO he more than anyone else on TV gives people a fair shake. If he doesn't think someone stands a chance, he says it, because his whole deal is to cut through the spin. On Fox it is definitely between him and Bret...

Chris Matthews continues to prove he is delusional.

The interesting thing about that study was actually that Ron Paul got the most positive coverage by far of all the candidates, and Mitt Romney had the most negative. yet it always seems to be Paul supporters claiming that the media isn't giving their guy a fair shake. The data simply doesn't...
